The one thing I like about the new anti tanking rule. Is the no consecutive lottery picks for one team. The Spurs wouldn’t have gotten Wemby and Castle and Harper Jr.

It’s a f***ing joke. They made a trade with Sacramento for Dearen Fox one of Sacramento’s best players on the team. The best player on Sacramento that didn’t allow the Kings to get Luka and made them trade Halliburton.

What the Kings get???? Look at the Kings now. The Kings were the upstart team in a big series with the Warriors.

The Spurs at least should’ve had to given up Castle or Vassell and a 1st round pick that would’ve been Harper Jr. for Fox.

That’s Fox an NBA all star. He makes the spurs what they are from a 17 win team 25 win team to a 50 win team.

Wemby is Wemby but this pick and roll makes them special.

That would be like us trading for Luka and only trading our two 1st round draft picks in 2031 and Christie and Vanderbilt and Hachimura.

it’s a joke that the NBA allowed this. It was a disgusting trade on so many levels.

So when the Spurs win that trophy just know it was hand given to them by Adam Silver.

 

Yeah I hear you. Lakers need to look at getting better defender around Luka and Reaves, if they are going to keep the pair together. A rim protector would help a lot with this. If unable to obtain a rim-protector, they need to bolster the rotation with 3 and D players.

But it wasn't handed to Spurs though. No-one forced the Kings to trade Fox - Fox wanted to leave after they fired Mike Brown. Kings wanted Lavine and thought he was an improvement over Fox. Bulls got their first back that was really valuable (because they're trash) and got 3 young guys and in bulls fashion they went nowhere.

As for tanking, I also like now you can't pick top 5 three times in a row, top 5 for two years in a row is good enough and means you have to bottom out quickly and get back to being competitive. But we can't really blame Spurs for hitting on Castle and Harper. Hawks, Washington and Rockets all picked before the Spurs for Castle. With Harper, they did another good pick but Flagg is clearly better and Kon Knueppel and VJ Edgecombe might be better than Harper in the future.

James Harden gets a bad rep for a few poor performances. But to be fair, he also took one of the greatest teams of all time to the brink twice. And every step of the way he has been a better performer... Cleveland need to trade Allen for a better wing. Keon Ellis could be on his way out from that team... he is getting DNP's in the playoffs.

If he wants to stay in Denver he'll stay in Denver, I don't see a scenario where he wants to stay and the Nuggets don't keep him. I don't think it will be that hard for them to move Johnson if they need to.
