Not playing Goodwin and then not dumping some of the deadweight contracts to keep Goodwin is another Caruso stupid move - not to the same level obviously but similar dumb thinking

Well, we can always get Goodwin back again. He's a FA this off season again. But probably get paid more handsomely.

Our FO values the wrong things. Can only hope that’s changing now

Lebron will have 38 points 10 rebounds and 8 assists tomorrow in a huge win against Houston.

Goodwin was one of the biggest mistakes the Lakers made and I talked about it. We talk these guards 3-D guys athletic. He does so much and when you look at OKC and the development and Boston depth. A guy we developed and bought up here we just shipped him out so fast. And he did those things here and we didn’t want it. He showed us. Made no sense to get rid of him.

Orlando Detroit’s going to be a lot closer series than people think. Both teams young and athletic.

also I’ll add Phoenix is a matchup that OKC doesn’t want to see. They are young

and Phoenix has two guys who can go off whenever they touch the ball. Booker and Green. They shoot it all the way out to 3 and they can go inside midrange make Shai work. Gonna get fouls on Shai.

and Brooks can shoot threes also. They space the floor out. They play a fast pace.

But it will help when the Warriors get the number 1 pick in the draft this season.

then maybe they can draft Dylan Peterson or Cam Boozer to give Curry another run. Or ship the pick for assets.

I’d have liked to keep Goodwin too. But ultimately he was waived to get Smart which is the better player.

We could have maybe waived Bronny, but I actually like his development. In hindsight letting go of Knecht and keeping Goodwin was the move, however we had just traded Knecht and a 1st for Mark Williams - who expected Knecht to crater so fast and so far.

You could see the potential in Goodwin the NBA body a good game.

the move was to waive Knect.

Yeah but you talk like you could see the future back then. I bet you if I asked you at the start of the season or looked through your posts, you'd say something like: "Yep, Luka needs shooters around him. Knecht - young athletic, can get up, shoot. Perfect fit."

this has been my thinking on it the whole time. the list of centers i would trade assets for is very short, and those guys probably aren't available. luka can make guys like hayes good enough to play your regular season center minutes, and there are lots of guys like hayes. i'd prefer jarrett allen, of course, but if it's that or a POA guy to put next to luka/reaves, that's a VERY easy decision for me.

not sure if knecht could be waived to leave enough room? didn't we pick up this year's option prior to that date? anyway, i was mad we had to let goodwin go. i understood that smart was likely better, but i'm not actually sure he was, tbh. and i thought that might happen (check the receipts). i just hope we learn from that. that was our reclamation project, and we let a division rival get him for nothing.

Who did we waive in order to sign Bufkin to the big team (with Nick Smith Jr now replacing him)?

I don’t think anyone only 14 spots at that time?

yeah, we just had an empty spot. we had to wait because we needed the pro-rated amount to stay below the first apron.

In hindsight, we should have just done the Rui/Maxi/Dalton/FRP for Wiggins trade that was allegedly available last summer because it would have cleared a spot to keep Goodwin.
