OKC comes into Crypt to play decimated Lakers, yawn their way through a 36 point win. Lakers top scorer was Rui with 15.

OKC had a guy off the bench named Jared McCain who had 15.

The It's All Over But The Shouting Lakers lose 123-87, in a game you'd've had to give me your tickets for free to go to...and I still might've put 'em up on StubHub. The final score makes it look like the Lakers "only" lost by 36, but we all know it could've been 60 if OKC wanted to be d***s about it.

Hammy strain equals Lakers fan pain; Grade 2 oblique and the remote I seek.

Lebron didn't play. (Can't say I blame him.)

Drew Timme started, got 27 mins, was 4 for 9 from the field.

Adou Thiero got 21 mins! 10/4/2. Burn them reps, Adou! Look forward to major mins at least into the loss against...Utah?

Kobe Bufkin: 18 mins: 9/3/4 on 2 for 6 shooting.

Nick Smith: 12 mins: 11 on 4 of 6 with 20 cents on two thin FDR dimes.

OKC hit 21 3s; Lakers made 9.

Luke Kennard, Jake Laravia and Bronny James combined for 0-11 from deep. It was quite a spectacle. But then so is Intramural Volleyball.

About time and as they play we learn more about them

There is nothing to replace playing at game speed to bring out the best in players or show their weaknesses

Savor it! Lakers without Luka and AR go into GSW and snap a 3-game skid, were up by 25 in the 2nd half and held on to win 119-103. Rui was the only starter to not shoot better than 50%: he was 5 for 12.

The Old Man: 32 mins: 26/8/11 w/2 steals and a block. Lots of touches back and forth with his son. That still seems bizarre to me: father playing with son.

Jit was driving me up a tree in the 1st half. They got a lot of easy buckets early in the game. We could shoot (61%) way better than them (51%). They were without Steph and Zingis. Still: love beating these guys.

Nick Smith got in fairly late and promptly began bombing from outside: did he hit his first 4 3s? He was 4 of 5 from out there, and some of the distances were...No! Nick! Why is he shooting from way out ther...oh wow it swished. Cool. No hezzy at all.

Everyone gave effort and the D could have held them under 100, but for garbage time. Lakers were up 10 late in the 2nd and gave up 6 quick point to enter halftime up 53-49. We won the 3rd by 5 and the 4th by 7.

We now come home to finish out the 82 with PHO (I predict a loss), and Utah (maybe a win?).

 

Tomorrow is DDay. It defines our regular season.

PHO rests Devin Booker and Jalen Green for "right knee soreness" (what NBA player doesn't have that at this point in the season?), and Lakers got back Marcus, but PHO still had Gillespie and the charmer, Dillon Brooks. PHO put up 24 in the 1st to lose by 9; PHO put up 24 in the 2nd to tie the Lakers. Lakers up 9 at half.

Gillespie and that punchable face Grayson Allen sat the 2nd half: PHO scored a grand total of 25 in the 2nd half as the Lakers, behind a 41 year old action figure playing on a BTB, beat PHO 101-73.

Lakers played like they cared; today a lot of teams didn't care. MEM lost by 46 to Utah. It's as if the teams of the NBA are just daring Silver to fine them or something: Hey, do what ya gotta do, weird bulbous skull man: we need a high draft pick. Lookin' at you, MEM, Brooklyn (lost by 17 to MIL), Wiz (lost by 23 to MIA), the Pels lost by 26 to BOS, but have an out: BOS hit 29 3s. IND somehow managed to only lose by 11 to the visiting 76ers. It could be that - now hang with me here this is brilliant: it could be that IND actually tried to win. I know, I know, sounds cray...

150 players were declared out for games today, but Lebron James, who played 24 hours earlier played again, and posted 28/6/12 in 32 mins with 4 steals.

Chris Manon and Adou Thiero got mins again. Nick Smith, after looking scorching from downtown yesterday, missed all 3 of his attempts from there today.

Hey, after Luka...then hearing AR was out 4-6 weeks with an oblique: yesterday and today are two wins: two more than I thought we'd see.

It's still dire AF though.

JJ told the press every team in the West wants to play us now that we have our two top scorers out. It is what it be.

Good game

 

Amazing response from the team after a week of apocalypse. We lost our entire season in a week, our 2 stars go down, beaten heavily by OKC, then proceed to lose to a tanking team and a 2nd beat down by OKC.
Yet, the team maintains their grit and get 2 comfortable wins against play-in teams on a b2b. It would have been easier to just give up and throw the towel. They didn't and we are ending the season in a much positive note.

Kudos to the team, coaching staff and LeBron for showing leadership and making the best out of a terrible situation.
Really hope we have a great summer, I want this team playing the best games and having great series against OKC, Spurs and Denver in the years to come

 

Lakers beat Utah in Game 82 to finish 53-29: not bad for the large amount of games our key players missed due to injury.

Lakers up 17 at halftime, win the 3rd and 4th by 3 each in a game that felt like garbage for the majority of minutes, but I liked seeing Adou, Smith, Bronny, Drew get lots of mins. DK - with a psychological background of who cares? - hit 5 of 6 3s in 12 mins. If only he could do that in meaningful minutes. Maybe he will.

What went right: no more injuries.

Unfortunately I see no sign of either AR or Luka having magical cures, so when the 2nd season starts for us against HOU at the Crypt next this Saturday, jit's looking rough for us. Can we steal a game here? If the Old Man holds up, Udoka has him double-teamed, so we need to knock down shots, esp 3s, in order to have a puncher's.

 

yeah, it is going to be really tough to get past Houston without AR or Luka. Won't believe it until I see it.
