Yeah, huge pass on Giannis if the deal includes Reaves and multiple 1sts.

He's constantly getting injured now and it's expected based on how he plays that it will be the case moving forward.

I think a lot of teams should be very cautious of Giannis in general. A 7 footer who only knows how to play based on his athleticism and explosiveness is not going to have a long career playing at his level.

When Giannis gets traded to New York they need to offer to facilitate by taking on OG or Bridges because it makes no sense for those guys to go to a full rebuild in Milwaukee

Yeah, definitely could be an option. Knicks only have the 2026 and 2033 1st to trade, and don't really have any good young players.

    Lakers: Bridges and Hart

    Bucks get: LaRavia, McBride, 23rd pick, 26th pick (Knicks), 2031 1st, 2033 1st, 2033 1st (Lakers), trade exception about 35 million.

    Knicks get: Giannis and Knecht

Bucks could probably trade up for OKC pick(s)

Could also be Anunoby instead of Bridges. Vanderbilt would go to the Knicks in that case. Lakers do plug two holes: Wing defender and POA defender.

Not ideal, because it takes away our 2026 1st, which I was hoping to use to get a lob-catching/rim-protecting 5. Since, Ayton and Hayes are not great at blocking shots. Could use vet minimum to sign a third big, like Robert Williams though. But, Bridges or Anunoby and Hart do help solidify the perimeter defense, and helps with shooting.

It's a pass from me in general, because Giannis would immediately take up all of our incoming free cap space and I just do not think there is any point in giving up of that cap space for Giannis at this point, especially when depth is more important than ever for roster construction in winning at the highest level in today's NBA.

Especially when he does not even covet playing with Luka in the first place. He set his table, let him eat at it.

Getting Hart and Bridges for Knecht, Vando and 3 firsts would be a good outcome. Age wise, Hart & Bridges have 2-3 really good years left.

    Luka (49.8) / Smart (5.4) / Bronny (2.3)
    Reaves (20.9) / Kennard (Room) / Bufkin (2.5)
    Bridges (33.5) / Jake (6)
    Hart (20.9) / ? / Adou (2.1)
    Ayton (8.1) / Hayes (4.5) / Kleber

We'd have about 10m in cap space left and could use one more wing. I wonder if Lebron would come back for another season with Bronny and a chance at a ring?

Yup. Also it would be interesting to see what Lebron does if we actually win the chip. I don't mind bringing him back for up to 25 million or so. At least use some of the cap room on a Dort or Ellis, or the Knicks trade.

Luka Luka f***ing Doncic. Savage. Looking like Magic Johnson with those no looks. Let Lebron play the worthy role. Finishing.

Ayton just beasting. Beautiful jumper. Hayes can’t do that.

I told y’all. I told yall read my post. We winning it all. We going on a run. Let Luka take 40 shots. Ride his back to the championship.

f*** outa here with the Spurs. Well whup spurs a**. Nobody’s f***ing with Luka.

Lebron putting it all in this playoff run.

we swept your 3-D Rockets. Yall still want Eason???? Oh so Athletic. please. We got this.

Forget about Next Season 3-D. All that matters is this season. We playing defense. We getting after it. Making great shots.

I told y’all it would look like this. Just trust it. LeBrons buying in!!!!!!!

And Luka playing like Kobe with that look on his face. Tonight. Yall Can’t f*** with me!!!!!

That’s what he was saying. They can’t f*** with me!!!!!!!!!!

    Lakers get: Anunoby + Hart

    Knicks get: Giannis + Vanderbilt

    Bucks get: LaRavia + McBride + Kolek+ Dadiot + #23 (Lakers) + #26 (Knicks) + 2031 1st + 2033 1st + 2033 1st (Knicks)

    Why for Lakers?

Anunoby is a good replacement for Lebron the 4. Has a long wing span, and is athletic, could shoot, and defend. Could defend the wing or POA. Hart is a 3 and D, and strong. Solid veteren. Salary dump Vando who's great in the locker room, but has been unplayable.

    Why for Knicks?

Pair Giannis with Brunson. They still have Towns and Bridges. Makes them favorites in the East.

    Why for Bucks?

They suposedly want 5 firsts for Giannis, so they get that. Also get some young, cheap players, and a large trade exception.

The Reason Kobe to Shaq alley oop happened against Portland is simple.

Kobe’s ability to hit the jumper bought the defense out to him. They had to give up the basket.

same reason you saw those Luka alley oops tonight. Lukas jumpers bought the Rockets out to Luka allowing the basket to be wide open for alley oops. That’s what Luka brings to the Lakers. What Kobe bought to the Lakers.

This game was exactly why teams went for Big 3's for so long - just freakin difficult to beat top end talent. Lebron carried the team and then Luka went bonkers. Meanwhile AR kind of sucked and it doesn't matter

Houston is so physical along with being long in the arms. They really give AR fits. Young guys who have lateral quickness and can respond well to his herky jerkey moves.

i was telling people in the luka thread that luka gets a ton of heat for slinging the ball around sometimes, but no one says boo about jokic doing the same on a much lower volume of handling and passing against pressure.

they also seemed to decide to make lebron a scorer and devote their top defender to reaves (thompson got him a lot). it's a good strategy, as thompson can't bother luka, so why not put him somewhere he can really make an impact?

that said, look at the box score and reaves had 8 assists and one TO, so just played the connector role. they did go after him a bit on the other end with some success, but really thompson just roasted all three of luka/lebron/reaves when he got in isolation. someone needed to tell them all that he wants to get to his right, and he's not pulling up for the jumper.
