The ref complaining stuff is a fair criticism. The worst team I've ever seen with that were those Doc/CP3/Griffin teams. Just constant b****ing to the refs every single game from all of those guys. I'll always believe that played some role in them mentally breaking down in the playoffs. I don't think Luka is that bad about it.

Luka has plenty of fair gripes - he's so big that contact that would normally knock a ballhandler off balance, thus drawing a foul call, just bounces off of him. LeBron has dealt with the same thing for a lot of his career. I care less about it from an on-court, we just gave up an easy transition basket standpoint than I do from a leadership standpoint. He's about to be given the keys to the kingdom if (when) LeBron leaves, after which I'd like to see him lead by example a bit more.

I don't understand this. Have known each other forever and been dating / together for 10 years. He proposes to her 3 years ago and she says yes, after one child already, or on the way. He was already living his working basketball seasons in the US where he's making the most he can possibly make for her, the girls and their family. Her problem is what, just doesn't want to live in the US? Now? Maybe with all the crap going on, who knows. But she knew what his life was and where he was going to be. They could always spend a full third of each year in the homeland with old friends and family and all his Euroball commitments ???

eh, who knows what it is; families and relationships are complicated. whatever it is, it's no fun, and i would find it hard to just behave like normal if it were happening.

*side note--our neighbors are going through a divorce, and seeing it up close is pretty rough. being rich or famous or both doesn't change it.

Sucks because this was his childhood partner so she was definitely with him through the good/bad times not even expecting him to be famous or rich.

She'll be fine, though. That child support will be there for her. It is what it is.

When she makes $80 million+ per year off of a contract and endorsements, maybe she can dictate that.

I knew something had to be going on with him. He isn't normally so chippy on the court. This year he has been getting frustrated really easily.

On a side note, after tonight's game against the Wolves I would try to find a way to make sure LeBron played his last game for the Lakers. He's had a great career but it's time. Even Ayton has a fire lit under him when LeBron isn't out there.

In LeBron's defense, I can't imagine how difficult it is to be told you are so great at something since a very early age and now all of a sudden to not be the face of the team anymore.

We don't know the circumstances of this breakup, but these kinds of issues are always complex. Whatever happened, I hope that Luka and his fiancée will find an amicable solution and that he will be able to spend as much time as possible with his daughters. I feel sorry for the guy, I can't imagine how difficult it must be for him.
People sometimes think that when someone is rich, everything is easier, but these kinds of issues certainly aren't, especially if you have to fight for the opportunity to have contact with your family from a great distance.

Great game BTW, what he's been doing is even more impressive considering the circumstances.

I really give Luka credit for still being able to put up a dominant performance despite what he’s going through off the court. I feel for him. The pressure of playing for the Lakers, just the expectations of being who he is as a player, and what he’s dealing with in his personal life, that’s a lot for someone to deal with him. Luka is a very tough guy mentally.
