Correct. Think of it this way: a player we need is simply a "fusion" of Vando and Rui instead of having both of them. That player, though, is an all-star two-way wing, who we can't afford.
Ayton + Kleber ---> prime Ewing Rui + Vando ---> poor man's Kawhi Luka + Smart ---> prime Larry Bird AR + Knecht ---> prime Ginobili Kennard + Hayes ---> Reggie Miller Lebron + Bronny ---> prime Lebron 5-peat
Love it. Especially the James connection. I'd say that Bron/Reggie/Kawhi/Bird/Ewing and Manu as a 6th man is pretty much unbeatable.
He has his best game of the year and then a DnP sigh. I was a huge fan of the Ayton signing but he doesnt fit very well unless it's AR running the offense. Luka and LeBron throw lasers and Aytons hands are just not good enough to catch them consistently. On defense he tries but against team with shooters he gets killed on pick and pop actions as he wants to go into drop coverage. Between Luka, AR and Lebron that's a lot to ask them to fight thru every pick then. Hayes and maxi need more minutes as they can switch in the perimeter. Just a huge difference in how the defense looks
I was surprised to not see him too. And that was his best game of the year. Maybe trying not to break him again playing too many times. All I got. Doesn't seem that would be the answer or a good one.
