i'll pile on with the lack of organized offense. at some point, someone needs to get jj to explain it, even if it means throwing luka or lebron under the bus. like, if your stars won't play the better way, it's your job to get them to do so. you're going to be fired either way if stuff keeps happening like that, so you should go out the way you want. i feel like jj has indicated he's aware the team looks better when they actually run offense. it's on him to get them to do it.

but ham knew it and had the same problem. and that was pre-luka, btw...

This postseason is huge for him too.

Yeah that's a bit weird. I wonder if it's to save it for the postseason. Nowadays there's so much data and video analysis that I think some teams try to hide a few things. And I think we do it massively.

For years we barely run Bron/AD P&R which was constantly very tough to guard. There would be full regular season games not running it once

As for JJ, he'll always have next year unless something extraordinary happens. We have a good record, team's fit is awkward so he'll get a pass.
But I think next year is where he needs to deliver if we do the roster haul we are expecting

yeah, folks keep saying the postseason this year is the referndum, but i think it's next year. after that, no excuses for rob or jj whatsoever. the luka trade reset the timeline for me.

If I'm reading you guys right, you basically think it's Lebron's fault.

Luka is an old 27, dude has been a pro for looooong time, his peak and the time to win is now, not in 2 years. If they can’t work on that timeline then they need to be looking to find a younger star or multiple all-star caliber guys to put next to him to extend his effectiveness, not someone like Giannis. We needed to be working on rebuilding this roster sooner though, at the very least maybe trying to get some 2nds for Rui in exchange to taking back a worse player also on expiring contract to a team looking to improve for this postseason. It is not good that we need to basically rebuild an entire roster in one offseason with few assets, not good at all.

    It’s a good question, it’s a bad lineup, can’t defend

    Yeah I hate that lineup

In his defense, at the 2:20 mark in the 4th Smart was ready to go in. Then Rui hits the corner 3 and JJ tells him to comeback and didn't go to it again.
Rui was also matching up Banchero, which is a bit too big to Smart. But I would still put Bron on Paolo and have Smart with Bane

we looked pretty good before Lebron came back. When he first came back he blended in, but then injuries/ego/whatever took over.

JJ needs to be strong enough to call this ish out. It's ugly to watch.

Atkinson was available when the Lakers fired Ham. I’m sure I advocated for him but we again went with the feel good hire garbage, can’t wait to have a front office overhaul

Yeah. Lebron and his 722 BBIQ was supposed to figure out how to blend into a team already playing well. He did for a couple games (which may have just been him trying to ease his way back into the lineup slowly after an injury). But he is back to full on Lebron mode. He can't be a deluxe Draymond. He only knows how to play one way.

The most damning stat is still the one where it's just Luka and AR having by FAR the best +/- of all the combinations of the big three. Thank you Lebron for your contributions, but I hope you are gone next season, even if you want to come back for the league minimum. I don't want some retirement tour circus distracting our guys, then you feeling you have to "perform" because it's the last time you will ever play in Indiana or some s***.

I can’t believe we’re here again already 1/2 seasons in, team quitting. This has got to be a LeBron thing or something because they were playing super hard to r first 15-20 games

Also, this. What are we playing towards here? The play-in? Why not start giving Adou and Bufkin some run? At least TRY to develop some players that will actually be here next season.

15-20 games does NOT a season make.
