Where is the discussion on the new Laker hire? The draft expert under Rob something we never needed until recently

yeah they'll be dangerous till Smart, Laravia, brick open 3 after open 3 and then Rui/Kennard come in to fix that only for the defensive rebounding to go to s***.

The team hears all the "well we'll have three picks and cap space to use in the summer" stuff. Hard to rally the team to make a playoff run when it's clear the FO doesn't believe that group can actually do it. That's part of why I hate the "well prices will be cheaper at the deadline" approach to teambuilding. I'm willing to overpay in the summer if it means having guys locked in and working toward a common goal starting in training camp.

it wasn't that prices were too high in the summer; it's that nothing was for sale.

One thing is for sure: I think this LeBron experiment is over.

IDK if there is a S&T deal you can do to at least get something in return but LeBron's skillset just doesn't fit with a player like Luka.

Golden State would be a perfect team for LeBron so I'm surprised no one seriously entertained a trade there. Before Butler was injured, they should have totally offered LeBron and Knecht for Podz+Butler.

Not enough possessions to go around for all three of these dudes to shine. Right now, the Lakers are working against themselves trying to make it work when they should be building on their actual strengths. I hate to say it but not having LeBron would be an addition by subtraction if they can get something decent in return even if they *lose* the trade by getting inferior players back.

The talent is there. The team assembly doesn't make sense.

Good thing is Rob has ZERO excuses to not do something this offseason. Clean slate and lots of salary cap... Unless they get Giannis, there are tons of moves that can be made to turn this team around.

There's some smoke around a LeBron for Jarrett Allen S&T. I kind of like it. I think it does make some sense for Cleveland - they're trending away from playing Mobley and Allen together. I think their future is Mobley primarily playing the 5.

I read somewhere that it wouldn't work because the Cavs are over the 2nd tax apron. Can anyone clarify?

I think they're abou $4 million away from getting under the 2nd apron, so they would just make a move to do that first

This is the best alternative that I discussed on here. Independent doctors to verify the injury and make sure there is no tanking. They do this in the NFL.

and if there is anything funny just take away the draft pick from them. You take away the first round draft pick from them.

for example Utah had the 4th pick. The pick would be taken away and the pick would go to the next team the Brooklyn Nets drafting.

and then Utah would be able to select at their spot in the Second round maybe 34.

Lebron will be 42 there’s no way that a Cleveland team with James Harden at 37 and Donovan Mitchell will win.

Stop!!!!! You trade your rim protection. Who’s protecting the Rim???

So Cleveland is going to have LeBron and Harden on their perimeter. They are there Clippers. Donovan Mitchell is not a Gary Payton.

So how does that make Cleveland better?????

    they are going to beat???

    Detroit
    Boston
    New York
    Indiana with Hali.

    come on.

    You gotta save this.

    start

    Luka
    Smart
    Lebron
    Vanderbilt
    Ayton

You gotta have some protection for the guys who can’t defend on the perimeter.

and try to mix in Reaves.

Luka isn’t the player that you can make think and tell to get everybody involved. He’s not Jason Kidd.

You gotta just let him go ape s***. And I hope they do that in the playoffs. Just like at the beginning of the season. Let him go nuts. 42 points 40 points. 47 points. Let him go off.

he has to be aggressive. Seeing him pass up that shot against Orlando tells me. He’s thinking about people saying he’s shooting too much. just go ham. That’s the only shot we have.

And then let the defenders defend. Austin will get his. Same with Lebron. Can’t worry about incorporating Lebron because we gotta get going.
