Cuban certainly shouldn’t be complaining. It’s one of the ways that enabled him to sell his team that he bought in 2000 for 285 million for 3.5 billion in 2023 and still keep 27%. Does he expect new owners to pay billions of dollars and keep ticket prices the same as when he paid millions for a team? It sucks but that’s the way it is.

You gotta hike ticket prices when you have a championship team.

2020 the stretch of Lakers Clippers before COVID showed us what championship team this is.

similar our win against the Clippers that game had a playoff feel to it. definitely want to see how we play against the C Bags today. Will be a good measuring stick where we’re at as a championship team. I do think it will be Lakers C Bags for the championship.

and I think the C Bags are the top team in the league with their defense. Vucevic spaces them out. That was a huge trade for them. Like when they had Porzingis.

slick made sense about getting him.

Now let’s see How Luka Reaves and LeBron respond to a championship defense today.

This is championship basketball today. Get your popcorn ready.

I think it will be OKC vs Cavs in the Finals, but I hope your prediction comes true.

But if it's a business that grows 10x in 20 years, then maybe making less 100M in revenue is not the end of the world?

I don't understand why people defend this kind of practices that only happens so that Balmer or whoever has 49 instead of 48 billion on his net worth

There's no reason to increase ticket prices other than greed.

So if you bought a house before prices skyrocketed in the early 2020’s are you willing to sell it for a couple hundred thousands less today?

watch the basketball. Watch Reaves and Luka. Luka can go Curry.

    and Lebron can go Draymond.

we have the height. If you look at our squad. We can get with anyone.

    Ayton Hayes Kleber Vanderbilt.

I will say not every owner is Ballmer.

some are really scrapping it buy.

we just saw one of them. Jeanie who filed a ppp loan in 2020 now I know the Lakers are the Lakers but some of them don’t rely on that money from other businesses

like Pera or Lacob. Tilman Fertita was getting his a** kicked in the finances.

I do man. Watch 95% of the games every season. If we can dramatically improve our defense, then I would become a believer.

I think that comparison doesn't make sense.

I think many people don't understand how much a billion is. Or how much companies' profit grew the past few years.

A couple thousands for me is the difference between starting a business or retire early. 100M for a billionaire is maybe not buying a 3rd yacht or a 7th Lamborghini.

If you make 1M per year, it takes you 1000 years to reach a billion. Read that again.

Their lives would be exactly the same, environment in the arena would be better, fans would be more community-based and close to the teams, players would interact more and the entertainment would improve. Win-win

No reason to increase ticket prices except for greed.

So is LeBron (who is a billionaire) greedy because he’s making 52 million instead of taking 20 million which is a more appropriate amount at his age?

Sure he is, 99% of them are, and then, when i save for a year (or more) for a trip to the States, to watch a game live... they decide to sit out for some bs reason. Guys like Balmer could let fans in for free, he wouldn't even see the difference on his bank account.

Not the best comparison again, imo.

I'm asking for owners to give up less than 0,01% of their wealth to improve the experience for fans, players, everyone involved.
You're asking for a player to forfeit 50% of his earnings for...the owner to save money?

Actually it is a good comparison. Bron is not going to miss 30 million. It’s not going to affect his life because he too is a billionaire.

You’re also grouping all owners into the Ballmer wealth category. He is one of the richest 10 people in the world. There is not another owner in his league. He could buy most of the teams outright if he wanted.

I'm always on players side to get the bag - unlike the owner who are taxed at capital gains and bunch of tax breaks the players get hit by labor taxes, agent fees, NBAP pensions etc. What they net is often 50% of the gross.

I have no sympathies for owners who have monopoly power and a ton of built in advantages. For example, basically get away scott free with the use of a city name to basically create there brand. If Chicago was a company no f***ing way they would license their names to be used by the Bears who could located in Indiana of all places. But the Bears can still call themselves the "Chicago" Bears
