that Max money is good money. Even NBA middle class gets money where nobody has to work.

    They’d have a 50 year lockout.

cause no players are giving that back. You mean play and get contracts that players are actually what they are worth???? No way.

the player empowerment era ruined that and after it was no looking back.

i think you're missing my point--no max. pay paul george 100 million next year if you believe he's worth it. the max is a weird rule that spreads some money around to players and keeps owners from dooming their franchises. but again, my opinion is that the market will correct itself there (after some serious short-term pain for some), and you'll start to see more sensible salary structures--and more importantly, different ones. like if you've got wemby and the max is effectively like 80% of the cap now (there's no such thing as no max with a cap), you can't afford castle, fox, harper, even kornet and barnes. and you don't get a window of castle and harper getting paid less than kornet, either. you have to pay them market value. which means you probably lose one of them AND most of your role players. now you actually have to have creative managers and talented scouts. right now, you just luck into consecutive super high lotto picks and count the winnings. unless you're the wizards or hawks, who win the lotto when it's like, sarr and risacher or some absolute b*******.

If Kahwii's contract is voided, do Lakers give him all of their cap room? I mean, Luka, Kahwii, and Reaves is a damn good big 3.

He will be damaged goods and just as much of a douche in the locker room as he has been everywhere he has played.

Kawhi right now would be a top 5 NBA player if he was healthy and dependable. I mean, the dude is a beast.

The problem is once you give him that contract, he's going to take a vacation. Any small injury and he's going to take a day off.

Too unreliable. I'll be surprised if any team gives him a max contract.

I also find it quite suspicious that he's been so available. It's almost like he knows his contract could be revoked and he has to actually be active now so he can secure another contract.

This dude is not trustworthy at all.

Yes, Kawhi is an amazing player, who can do everything on the court and would mesh extremely well. But again... he's just not going to play when you need him the most.

Okay, so the consensus here is basically the pass on him. Fair enough. I think we make a serious play for Watson.

I don’t know. If it came down to Peyton Watson and Kawhi Leonard I’m giving my money to Kawhi Leonard.

Honestly, I'm start thinking that the gap between SGA and Cade is more subtle that it's said.

    Best option might be something like LaRavia + Knecht + Thiero + 26 1st + 31 1st + 33 1st for Murphey. And, then trade 2033 2nd + 2032 swap for Watson.

No thanks to Trey Murphey. He isn’t the defender we need but needs usage to be effective on offense.

There are no excuses for Luka.

OKC are down with injuries. Now Mitchell.

    Houston is imploding

    Denver is old and injured.

Minnesota has holes and now has to defend a center.

Luka needs to elevate this team. I don’t want to hear about lob centers. Figure it out.

you have Haye’s Ayton. You got bigs who do two different things.

    your deep you have length.

    LaRavia Vando Rui Buffkin

    perimeter defense Smart.

you got shooting Kennard and a ballhandler and passer.

    You got Reaves and Lebron.

this is a lot. And you got Kleber.

Luka should be winning with this team. He’s averaging 32.1 points per game. Come on.

but I think Luka has more ball handling an overall deeper team.

he's winning and we're pretty good despite games missed by our stars.

I think we're fine, but also think all things being equal, even if we are healthy for the playoffs, if other teams are too, we don't have the D to make it happen.

I'm down with trading our 31 pick to Okc, for Dort and thier 2 FRP in this upcoming draft.

    Yup.
Really poor defensive teams never go far in the playoffs.

I just don’t think they’d do that. I know they have to let Dort go for cap reasons. But they’ve got an option on his contract this summer, they can just let him walk.

So I just don’t think it’s any kind of value for them. They’d probably trade Dort for a first. Maybe they’d trade their two firsts this year for our 31’ but not both.

This is all fine and dandy, but playoff basketball is a differnt animal. This team is not made for playoff basketball.
