If Giannis is not traded before the deadline we will 100% hold or assets and wait for the summer. I highly doubt they make any moves. Agree or disagree it’s just how this franchise operates. Maybe there is a small move and some buyout moves but wouldn’t expect anything significant.

Compared to Fitbit Gabe, he'd look like a MVP candidate (I know his offense has abandoned him). Problem is we still need to clear some money to afford a buyout player.

We HAVE to dump one corpse somewhere to get enough room for two buy out additions at bare minimum by tomorrow.

I honestly respect the boldness it takes to even call the Mavs after the Luka heist.

    So, Harden officially got traded.

James Harden is headed to the Cavs, with the Clippers agreeing to send the 11-time All-Star back to the Eastern Conference during his highest-scoring season in six years, per multiple reports.

    LA receives:
    • Darius Garland
    • Future second-round pick
    Cleveland receives:
    • James Harden
ESPN was first to report the deal was finalized.

The media: Lakers aren’t interested in taking on contracts beyond this year.

Also the media: here’s a list of players with contracts beyond this season that the Lakers have called on.

With Lebron and Rui renounced, Lakers would have about 55 million in cap room. Without Reaves agreeing to sign and trade, Lakers only have an underwhelming trade package that they could put together on draft night. Something like LaRavia, Thiero, 2026 1st, 2031 1st, 2033 1st, 2032 2nd, 2028 swap, 2030 swap, 2032 swap. Bucks end up with like a 50 million dollar trade exception. We would then have about 3 million in cap room left, and the 9.66 million room-exception. Another thing is the timing. Reaves cant agree to sign and trade on draft night, and we cant trade the 2026 pick after draft night, right? So the trade would be like Reaves + Thiero + 2031 1st + 2033 1st

Middleton is the primary one I'm watching.

It also depends on who we're dumping. Dump a guard, you might want to look at a G. Dump a big, might want to look there. Best bet might be to dump DK and attach a second. I know we're against using assets to get off a player, but DK's contract is small enough that it may be palatable for a bottom feeder who see him as a reclamation project.

I'm also hoping a Giannis deal gets done somewhere and that shakes a few guys loose in the process.

Without the context of who we dump, I like the optionality that a Looney would bring as a big to deploy for 8-10 minutes when we need a bruiser.

Or there could be something unexpected like...

I mean, he's been talking about us for YEARS.

I'm prepared for a first round exit and an active summer.

Not mad. Not anything. Apathetic really.

    Nail the summer.

    Lots of scenarios.

looks like LeBron is planning a team up with Harden and Mitchell in Cleveland next season. After the tampering video.

so that clears us for Gianiss in the off season.

only question is what does Golden State do? I thought Jaren Jackson Jr. would’ve been perfect for them. Even Vucevic.

so slicks favorite Vucevic goes to the C Bags.

Lavine says he ain’t giving his money back and will exercise his 49 million. In other words you’re stuck with me Sacramento.

Rob stand pact. Don’t do anything stupid. Wait for Gianiss in the off season.

does Golden state shift towards Sabonis?

I think Sabonis and Derozan are the two dominoes left.

Does Washington want to move Blilal Colley?

or a smaller trade getting Zaire Williams or some length up front? New Orleans is Delisional.

I actually think the Clippers getting Garland is better than the Clippers getting Ja. Because Garland can shoot.

Where does Ja go?? He’s gotta go somewhere Orlando?

Yeah. We will see how things play out.

I do wonder if Walter may actually prefer to make moves in the summer when he's gotten more of his team in place.

I likewise won't be surprised or all that disappointed if we don't do anything by the deadline. But if the FO is going to treat the summer as the big opportunity to elevate this team, we should hold them to that standard. If the team doesn't look a legit championship contender on the eve of training camp, Rob should be gone.

He'll have another transaction cycle next February.

But I understand what you're saying.

    We shall see.
