not allowed to be true! you're supposed to conjure the deals. hang karnisovas out the window by his heels like gangster sam presti would.

right now, i still prefer having the ability to offer peyton watson and/or quentin grimes sizable deals this offseason moreso than acquiring deandre hunter types.

How about do your "winner mentality" Owner's job Mark now that you've bought the team!

We shouldn't have to rely on Austin Reaves to beat any better-than-average team. The fact that this is where we are at speaks volumes about how poor the roster construction has been.

we've basically gone .500 (a little over last i checked) while missing reaves, who might have been an allstar had he not been injured. most teams missing an allstar go .500 if they have another one.

i guess denver went 10-6 this year without jokic (4-8 last year), but we went 11-4 without lebron. sixers are .500 without embiid. clippers were 4-9 without kawhi earlier this year.

that isn't to say our roster doesn't have problems; just that pretty much every team struggles when missing one of its top players.

in the short-term, probably, considering it's for one of the teams about to knock us into the play-in. long-term...i'm just not sure he's got a ton of juice left. maybe i look silly later (he was great his year prior to the injury), but i just don't like how he's started to get hurt and the lack of shooting improvement over time. like lebron, he doesn't really want to convert to a center/post player, so the options start to be limited.

but yeah, him and curry in the short-term is definitely nightmare fuel. and him with ant and mcdaniels is also quite scary.

Really frustrating too that this context never seems to be taken into account. Especially since JJ has slowly been able to improve the rotations to fit better.
We still haven't seen the 3 bigs guns with Smart/Ayton. We still haven't seen any of the bench units with AR replacing Gabe.

I hate to put do you watch game card but a big problem when Lebron came back was 1) he was clearly out of shape from not being to get cardio in/no preseason 2) The fit with Rui was terrible - and everyone knew about this. Now you see a team which is in most games, Rui is playing better, the defense is better but Lakers don't have an extra gear against the good teams because they're non Luka/Lebron players are just inconsistent offensive players.

    From Fischer's live chat:

    - Blazers are a dark horse in the Giannis race with the option for the Bucks to get their picks back. Although he doesn't want to go there.

    - Thinks ultimately Giannis is still a Buck after the deadline.

    - no indication Lakers consider themselves a player in such a race.

    - Cavs still looking to clear salary.

    - Hawks unlikely to circle back to AD

Me either. We may have kicked the tires but no way those are our only wing targets.
