    If Rui could do this consistently and rebound (basically combining him with Vando), he’d be a star and we wouldn’t have to look for a 3rd option after Lebron leaves.

    If he could grab 8 boards, hit open shots, defend competently, and play with the fire he showed tonight, he wouldn’t be up in trade talks all the time. He has the tools, it’s about give a f***, and he doesn’t too much of the time. If he stays through the deadline I hope he adjusts to the bench role and does the other little stuff, if for nothing else than his next contract.

    Proof right here he can thrive in a bench role.

    Those 7 straight points made all the difference tonight.

    Embrace the role, PLEASE.

    That's what's so f***ing frustrating with him. He CAN do the things necessary to win and to get a huge payday, he just doesn't have the drive to do those things consistently. I'd be less irritated with him if he physically couldn't do them.

    Glad he's open to it, that makes it easier. He can showcase himself much more as the #1 bucket getter off the bench.

    BUT it took him 3.5 years here to figure out how to make an impact without scoring? :Bangbrick4:

    lol, rui basically saying exactly what i did the other day in response to jj saying guys were mentally having trouble with contract years.

    rui is grasping that he could put up 20 for us, but if we're in the play-in again, he's not getting paid by us or anyone else. if we go to the conference finals with him averaging 11 and 7, he stands to make more money.

    Instantly more open to bringing Rui back next season. Hopefully we keep exploring using him as a piece to punish mismatches and not just a spot-up shooter.
