To be fair we’ve been down two starters for over two weeks now. But yes that’s not an excuse for the other guys to sit back and play like garbage. I’m just not ready to throw in the towel on the roster yet in January. Of course we could use that trade for a defensive starting level wing any day now though.

A roster that has nothing to do with what Luka needs to perform at his best.
And it has even less to do with what Luka needs to avoid squeezing him like a lemon.

In the end, it's January 13th, and already with enormous signs of excessive usage (after all, he was at a career high at the start of the season), the rest of the roster hasn't made a single step forward to allow the season to go to waste.

AR and Jake / Jaxson (somewhat those 2) excluded. Ayton and Smart and Vando in spurts. IMO.

yeah, lebron and luka don't fit, sort of like lebron and AD didn't fit as each declined athletically. to make it work with lebron/luka/AR, the other two guys on the floor need to be athletes who can cover a ton of ground defensively and finish plays. you need like, jarrett allen and cason wallace or something. ironically, you can do more with less talent if your parts fit better, imo.

Luka is shooting 32% from three this season on TEN attempts per game.

He is a career 35% shooter from three.

He's becoming a below average shooter. How has he been this bad at shooting but takes so many attempts?

That last part is the key IMO. If we can identify guys who are good in the areas we need, we can still do well even if they are lesser overall players.

I would guess it’s because he’s having a harder time getting to the rim than he’s maybe ever had, and settling for threes is the result. He isn’t the most athletic, and we don’t have shooters so players can leave their man to block the paint, so combing those things it’s kind of amazing how much he’s still scoring. He’s also rarely ever open, so the shots are difficult, it reminds me a lot of what Kobe dealt with on some bad rosters after Shaq.

mentioned this the last time people were complaining about his shooting percentage. you'd think people would remember kobe's solo years and how people used his fg% as some sort of condemnation of his ability. notice nobody ever left him open for any reason ever.
