or he knows that Lebron has been ducking him for years, and he may never see him again except at the All Star game wearing a completely different jersey

Should make sirron happy with all the over the top bordering on sickening “glazing” he does for his favorite player.

    :Jeanie Srsly:
Speaking to reporters following Lakers practice on Sunday, JJ Redick said LeBron James’ health and availability was a key factor in deciding to cancel shootaround.

“We made the decision 12-13 days ago that we weren’t gonna do shootaround in the mornings anymore. Part of that thought process was we have a 41-year old who shouldn’t be on his feet twice a day,” Redick said. “Let’s only rev his engine once. The other part of it was just reading personnel, like what are we really getting out of shootaround based on who’s on our team.”

not being familiar with nba shootarounds and such--i wonder what this means. like--what kinds of players ARE shootarounds useful for? is this just lebron and luka don't take this seriously or something?

    Yeah kinda weird

I also believe that each player nowadays have their own routines and trainers so they just do their stuff, either in the facility or at their place or something

JJ is always preaching championship habits and Bron is known for his work ethic, so I tend to believe in their decision making on this

He's number 23, so probably just realized now they could monetize it. I read the patches go to some collection cards or something

The timing of this Woike article about all these potential trades and why we probably won't do any of them is what makes me suspicious. Seems like something you put out to temper fanbase expectations. If we really aren't going to do anything meaningful transaction wise, I could see LeBron wanting to turn the second half of the season into more of a farewell tour. Between the patch thing and the shootaround thing, it may be that his body just isn't responding well and he is going to call it quits after this year.

The fact LeBron allows his agent and one of his closest friends to continue going into a podcast to talk about the team and players is just sad and pathetic.

To talk about Reaves and trading him for JJJ? Unless the Lakers are getting some picks back and LeBron takes a huge discount, why would the Lakers even entertain that by trading Reaves? He was on his way to becoming an All-NBA 2nd team player.

To talk about Luka and how Luka only plays a certain style? Such a snake move.

If I was the Lakers, I would have a talk with LeBron and tell him to stop this nonsense. It's a distraction and everyone knows Rich Paul will only speak about this if LeBron has voiced his opinion to him before... There is no Klutch without LeBron. He knows everything that is happening by extension of Rich Paul.

i'm talking about jj's actual words.

    but you maybe meant this:

    i don't know slick...lots of smoke lately.

i agree that you can't take anything from any front office at face value. we'll leak we're doing nothing then trade half the roster if the right situation arises. that's all hot air of a different sort.

i view these things as separate: every year, we put out stuff about how we might not do anything at the deadline because...we might not. it might not make sense. why stoke the fan/media flames? it means nothing.

on the other hand, lebron's agent agitating for win-now stuff since forever and amping it up last summer and now...paired with lebron being sort of formally/informally honored left and right all of a sudden. maybe that's nothing, but it is weird to me. the giannis thing was weird. the kings' patch is weird. either could be explained in isolation, of course, but if a few more of these things happen, i'll be full foil helmet.

Meh..You know what's really going on here professor. Rich is angling for Rob's job, what's Rob's claim to fame? He was Kobe’s agent. It's deeper than Lebron's PO. I don't think Jeanie is going to be calling all the shots, for much longer either.

They know the season started in 10/21 right?

Cool little way to honor season 23, but weird timing. Seems like even if it's for one game it's something you announce during the off season.

I’ll admit, this did cross my mind. Rich is not an idiot and definitely knows his comments will make waves.

But for me, it just makes me want to clean house even more. LeBron can sign with Cleveland and do his retirement tour if he doesn’t close it out with us this year. We get out of the Klutch business, Walter wipes the slate clean of Jeanie and her whole management tree, puts in his own management team, and we just move on from this era.

Thanks for the last ring to everyone involved but this whole thing ran its course a few seasons back.

Bringing Tinkerbell back after the conference finals, when Ham obviously preferred another PG, is what let me know that the gig was up.
Man it's like the entire organization went into shell shock.

I can embrace change whatever happens. I just want to see us run like a world class organization, we'll get there, there may be some more drama along the way though.

we didn't have options. if we let him walk, we'd have only had the mle (and that's with letting everyone else walk--which we did!), and nobody was available for that who could start for our team. relatedly, the the worst thing we did that offseason was let beasley walk into air for cap savings. that was a 15 million expiring, at worst. top teams operating over the cap just don't do that. anyway, that's another thing i'm hoping will be finished with the new ownership group. with deeper pockets, we would have balloon-paid dlo for one year (instead of giving him a PO on a two-year deal at lower money) and kept beasley. this is certainly what would have happened if ballmer was our owner, imo, and then we'd have been in position to make more trades instead of being handcuffed. was that the year the clips got norm powell for expirings? can't remember, but that's the kind of thing we missed out on.

anyway, rich paul needs to get away from my team. stop talking about them and go away. did you enjoy watching westbrook's 10-30 team beat us, rich?

I really think that Rich and Bron haven’t figured out that the Laker franchise is bigger than Klutch and friends. Take your narrative and don’t let the door hit you on your way out. The power you had over every franchise in your prime is now gone and they just haven’t realized it yet.
