I feel like they could get some picks back with their guys. Just not two unprotected firsts for Herb or something crazy like that. This season is down the tubes anyway. No one to take back that Atlanta trade so I think they should just do what they can.

Honestly based on thoughts around resigning Reaves, I’m not exactly sure what people have in mind for people’s contracts these days. And I’m not even trying to be negative with that comment. The market rate for guys has just gone up and I’m really glad we will have an ownership group that will spend.

yeah, i tried to spell it out in a post somewhere, but it drew crickets. paying reaves mpj money is a no-brainer.

That trade was criminal but to be fair to them, Queen looks hella legit. Just dropped a big TD today, definitely someone they can build around, he's the Jokic/Sengun type and seems to actually defend.

I'd trade Herb and Zion whenever they can and build around him and Trey. Need a couple more legit young guys and then round it out with solid vets. Only thing is that it may take a while and it may be a waste for Trey to wait that long. They should be active in trying to get picks for this year

Missi is expendable too with Queen commanding the biggest minutes at center. Unfortunate for him, kid has potential. But don't think any team is dropping a 1st for such prospect. Maybe Indiana? Would be great for us too but wouldn't send a 1st. Maybe a couple late swaps (like 2030 onwards) if they'd entertain that

 

i realize you're not in this camp, but if rookie queen and trey murphy are a foundation, then luka doncic and austin reaves are a foundation.

i'm not as sold on queen as you are, though. much more sengun than jokic, and there shouldn't be a / there, as those two are in fully different stratospheres.

but yeah, i see no point in keeping herb jones or alvarado on that team right now. those are win-right-now guys, and NO isn't winning right now.
