Lol..Lebron and Luka are already ignoring JJ and running thier own plays now. This sounds familiar.

Rich Paul has been pretty much "f*** Rob Pelinka" since the summer. He hasn't tried to hide it. He and OX are in agreement, I'm waiting until after the playoffs, to decide on joining them or not.

JJ landed the Lakers job with no experience through a podcast. Paul might be auditioning for a GM gig somewhere!

i think the trade deadline or the summer would be the more appropriate times to judge rob.

he did about as well as possible this summer, imo, given the circumstances. one of the things he nailed was removing rich paul from power.

I'm withholding judgment, until I see what happens in the playoffs myself. However if we go out in the 1st rd again, the divorce is going to get down right ugly. Lebron, JJ, Rob....all three of them, might not be here next season.

i think lebron's already gone, which is what all this is about.

jj's extension came AFTER the sale to walter, right? there was no need to offer it if we didn't intend to give him more of a runway. i think he stays almost regardless. at least for one more year.

rob--who knows? i've said many times i could see him being shown the door along with lebron and rich paul. they kind of came in together and largely operated as a unit until the last year-plus. you can see rob's been trying to separate himself from klutch, but the question is whether he's done enough to earn the new owner's confidence. we'll find out this summer is my guess. it's too important a period to have a lame duck in charge.

i wish we'd poach another FO executive, but that's hard to do, in-season. dallas fired nico and is just rolling with two underlings instead of making a hire.

JJ extension came before Walter officially became the owner. I don't think his extension means anything. What exactly would be the point of keeping Redick, if he fails to advance the team in the playoffs? What has he done? Rob at least has championship ring on his resume. JJ has nothing..He's the least secure IMO. Not to mention what does Luka think? That would absolutely kill Rob and JJ if he's not feeling the situation. Nothing is happening until after the playoffs IMO.

The sale to Walter was announced in June, JJ was extended in September and the sale was approved by the NBA Board of Governors in October. There is a zero percent chance that JJ was extended without Walter's approval. The purchase agreement for the Buss family's ownership almost certainly stipulated that major actions couldn't be taken between the announcement of the sale and the approval by the board without Walter's consent. That's how all of these agreements work.

Yeah and how many coaches have been fired after signing an extension? That means absolutely nothing. Didn't we fire Frank the season after he got his extension? And he won a Championship 2 seasons prior. I reject this idea that JJ is somehow safe. The Playoffs are going to determine everybody's fate IMO. If you can't win a series with two All NBA caliber players and a budding All Star like Reaves..perhaps this is not the job for you. Who cares about the coaching changes under Jeanie? Walter gets to make a clean slate..the job will be highly sought after IMO. The GM job too.

Name a team that had two All NBA caliber players, and another All star caliber player, that didn't advance past the 1st rd, two seasons in a row. Barring major injury of course. I don't want to be THAT team.

we only have one all-nba caliber player now, and the list of teams that don't advance with that is very long.

    Giannis Antetokounmpo, Milwaukee Bucks
    • Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Oklahoma City Thunder
    • Nikola Jokić, Denver Nuggets
    • Donovan Mitchell, Cleveland Cavaliers
    • Jayson Tatum, Boston C Bags

    SECOND TEAM
    • Jalen Brunson, New York Knicks
    Stephen Curry, Golden State Warriors
    • Anthony Edwards, Minnesota Timberwolves
    LeBron James, Los Angeles Lakers
    • Evan Mobley, Cleveland Cavaliers

    THIRD TEAM
    • Cade Cunningham, Detroit Pistons
    • Tyrese Haliburton, Indiana Pacers
    James Harden, LA Clippers
    • Karl-Anthony Towns, New York Knicks

Not a single one of them had TWO ALL NBA caliber players and an All Star caliber player to boot. Which is exactly what I posted. Luka was ALL NBA caliber last season wasn't he? You had him top 3. NOW show me the list that fits exactly what I posted.

I can say reasonably that Ham had two in LeBron and AD..he lost in the 1st rd and got fired. JJ already got his excusable loss last season. Now Austin has elevated his game..he has no excuses this campaign. Rob ether for hiring him, especially after saying that we needed a coach with more experience. Then hiring a guy with zero coaching experience. We look clueless with regularity man...this has to stop.

Off the top of my head here...We might be the only team in recent memory, to go out in the 1st rd, two seasons in a row, with two All NBA caliber players. A third straight is unforgivable. I'm talking ALL NBA caliber players, but damn...has there been a team in recent history, to go out 3 straight seasons in the 1st rd, with at least two All Star caliber players?
