Portland beat Spurs, 50 points from Max and AD and Dallas won vs Houston

 

I like Cranjis, but he can miss too. Everyone does. Same way we were told to force Murray left in the P&R because he “wasn’t comfortable” pulling up from three… and then we proceeded to lose the series while he cooked going left anyway. Sometimes the theory just doesn’t matter when the guy is that good.

Defensively, I don’t buy it. You can put a First Team All-NBA defender next to LeBron, Reaves, and Luka and I’ll still bet they don’t sniff a top-15 defense. Too many possessions where someone has to be covered for. That’s just the reality of those lineups.

Now if LeBron’s gone and it’s Luka + Austin with a legit center — maybe Ayton if he’s actually engaged, or someone else who protects the rim and plays with motor — then yeah, I think you can get into that 12–15 defensive range over the regular season.

Offensively though? Luka and Reaves should be top 5–8 easy. That’s a contender. Probably not a title team, but competitive every year and dangerous if things break right.

He's averaging 12.3 this year, low on the pecking order of shots taken NO doubt, 46% from DEEP .... apparently highest for a "starter" in the league this year .... and giving Dallas the very good POA defense we, the Lakers, sorely miss. I never agreed with Slick’s take that role players are easily replaceable either. The whole team has to come together in a way where every part slots together and the sum of the whole is greater than the parts.

In a vacuum, Rui is a useful player, but his fit doesn’t work with us. Max would be a far better fit.
