that story is intentionally vague, but if these were friends pulling a prank he didn't like, he needs new friends ASAP.

Sure seems like he has the size and strength and athleticism and monster hands to learn how to also set solid picks and play NBA PnR with the vertical threat to finish or find the open man, with all the on ball experience he had playing point in HS?

Give him all of the Knect minutes and Gabe minutes - he's a rookie and you can see it (a bit reckless on drives for example) but come on what more do you need to see? he's going to attack the rim, he going to man up on guys, and he really does have some Kawhii in him with those quick hands.

he needs to be in the regular rotation and allowed to fail a bit on the job. barring a trade, his development is our only real chance at improvement.

Therein lies the problem. JJ doesn’t have the patience to allow young players to play through their mistakes. He is an absolute confidence killer to young players.

    FREE ADOU!!!

G-damn it JJ!!! This guy visually screams that he could help us nightly if given minutes. Strong and quick and has a bit of a nasty edge to him. You can even see his past PG skills at times running the ball up and making the pass. He will get his points, once in a reasonable rotation, in multiple ways whether he's ready to shoot decent % from 3 or not. JJ talked this >> he was big on developing the young guys stuff when first hired but is not following through on it. Is Adou in regular but limited minutes nightly really going to lose games for us considering all the other ways .... turnovers, missed shots, poor rebounding, inadequate D, etc .... that the team is very capably doing without him???

yeah, why is adou with the big club if he's going to only get mop up minutes. give him some burn in the g-league if you think he's not ready.

after years of finding and developing some good young players, we've completely lost the plot in this regard, basically since reaves.

And this is my concern with us picking up a young 3&D guy via a trade. JJ has shown no inclination or patience to allow young players to grow and develop which is insane with a 41 year old Lebron and slow footed Luka and AR in the lineup.

The handling of Adou is what has me questioning JJ the most. I don’t expect him to be our savior, but when the whole world knows we lack athleticism and with the constant complaints about effort, there’s literally nothing to lose by giving this kid regular minutes. Impossible he’s worse than what we’re rolling out on a nightly basis.

Austin was more self-made IMO. Darvin is the one that gave him the starters nod tho. Same with Rui. Ironically they both complained about Ham (allegedly). Maybe that was Tinkerbell's influence. Handy should get a little credit too

Perhaps he's taking marching orders from Rob here? It would seem counterintuitive that Rob is picking up young guys, when his coach is asking for more energy and juice. And then telling JJ to limit thier minutes, but we are the Lakers, we do some stuff differently.

Hate the kid is injured. It’s not like JJ was gonna play him anyway. Rest up and recuperate Adou!

No wonder we don't play him. How'd he get injured sitting on the bench?
