Game Debrief: What Went Right And What Went Wrong?

Luka suffers contused leg, hobbles in the 2nd Q, sits out the 2nd half, Lakers already w/o Ayton, Rui, Gabe and AR. Lakers lose 103-88 at Intuit Dome in Inglewood.

The Clippers announcers were elated that the depleted and hobbled Lakers didn't come back and make them 6-22. Instead they're 7-21 now. Hey, good for you.

And you know what? If Marcus Smart could hit shots like he did a week ago, we would have won. Marcus was 0-9 from deep and 1 for 12 altogether. The loss wasn't on him, though. He played good defense and took a couple of rough charges. We were just depleted.

I thought Kleber played like a guy who...shouldn't be in the league anymore. Lakers were 6 for 38 from deep,16%, which just won't get it done. Even against Ballmer's team.

It was not a fun game to watch. Clips jumped out to a 9-0 lead. I don't think the Lakers even got the deficit down below 7. Kept wondering: who goes down with an injury next?

Lebron James: 36/4/3 in 38 mins. Not bad for a guy 9 days away from being 41.

Jake looked good. 7 offensive boards. Vando's defense bothered the Clippers, Nick Smith looked okay.

If you missed this game 'cuz of holiday stuff: you picked a good one to miss.

 

didn't bother attempting to watch due to the injuries, but man...how many games are we going to come out flat as hell? gotta start asking the coach questions with that kind of pattern. i expected a loss, but not to be out of it from the jump against one of the league's worst teams.

I liked that the team fought back and made a game of it. Showed more heart then in some of the blowout losses and bodees well for the future.

My youngest son and I flew out to Austin, ate the best BBQ on the planet at “Terry Black’s,” then drove to Beaumont, TX and stayed in a shady hotel on the same floor as Jesse Pinkman’s crew.
The Next day made it to New Orleans and had a great lunch with a cool band playing. I finally was able to walk the streets that I studied so closely to replicate the architecture for Red Dead2( large town of St. Denis).
Then we headed to Talahassee and spent the night in a slightly less shady La Quinta Inn. Woke up, had an excellent breakfast at a local diner and then spent a few hours in the craziest auto museum there in town. Dude had about 100 sick rides from old Fords, Camaros, Stangs, Chevies, to newer Ford GTs, to a crazy 1923 Bugatti that sold for $22k back then.
Upstairs was a Batmobile from the OG movie, Batmobile from “Batman Forever,” Bat Boat, Bat Cycle, and my personal favorite- the Penguin’s 15 foot Duck Car that Devito rode in. He had about 100 motorcycles, 30 single man racing boats, a knive collection in the thousands, Native American section that contained a 25 foot canoe dug up from the mud nearby, boat engine collection of maybe 200, massive gun collection, and even a creepy doll section. After that we drove the last 4.5 hours up to Savannah, GA.
It was a total of 1200 miles in 2.5 days and amazingly, zero speeding tickets.

not sure why AR had to come off the bench that setup the Suns run to blow the game up in the first 2 minutes of the 3rd.
I also didn't like not putting Lebron or Theiro on Brooks - thought this was pretty silly to put smaller/weaker guys on him which led to him to go off again.

Suns deservedly won but felt we made it way to easy with them. At least on the bright side I see no way that Thiero can't be given more minutes going forward
