How about bringing in Killien Hayes to work out as the young quick guard.? We can sign him to a 10 day and see how he looks. I’ve seen him as a quick guard in the league playing defense.

Okogie, if available, would be the perfect fit.

Jones, Ellis Wiggins price tags are too high

he was available at the vet min this summer. several of us listed him as a good pickup, but alas, we must employ bronny. but houston's got him in the regular rotation, so that's a no-go.

i won't give up on ellis until the trade deadline passes. his UFA is a little problematic, so i'm not sure sac can get as much as they'd like to for him. that recent article said a protected 1st was the likely current rate on him, and referred to him as "divisive" in terms of talent evaluation (something evidenced on this very forum). i'm sure sac wants nothing to do with sending him here, but if we don't make any other moves, we are most definitely a threat to sign him outright this summer, with them getting nothing. knecht and top-5 protected swap rights beats the hell out of that.

Normally I’d agree but Luka seems to always want to destroy the Paper Clips so I’m hopeful for a win.

Rui Hachimura (right groin soreness) has been downgraded to out for Saturday's game vs. the Clippers, the Lakers announced. Deandre Ayton (left elbow), Austin Reaves (left calf) and Gabe Vincent (lower back) are all also out.

:Magicwow4: ... they won't just let me ever stop worrying about losing to these bleeps. We don't have enough do we? Thiero gets much more burn? How about Manon? Would they play him on the 2-way when Bronny is listed out with South Bay? Timme too? For the love of whatever .... don't rack up huge minutes on Luka, Smart or Gramps.

On the other hand, Harden is coming back from an injury and Rui might be able to go, you never know. Should be interesting.

I mean if someone really wants to nit pick they could say that Ellis graded out as an F in screen naviagation last season, and a C+ this seaon pon bnall index, so he's not the greatest screen navigator (maybe a strength issue here). But then again Vando ahs also struggled at screen navigation, yet is still regarded as an elite POA defender. So, again not the perfect addition, but pretty damn good, and a good enough combo o+ d, and a good enough impact player with forcing turnovers- he could absolutely be our 5th starter.

    Dosunmu

I've long been a fan of Dosunmu, a player who takes exactly what the defense gives him and makes plays every time he's on the court. He doesn't overstay his welcome on the ball, but he is capable of slashing to the rim. He moves with purpose off the ball. Defensively, he's solid and tough at the point of attack at 6-foot-4, 200 pounds. And he's having his best statistical year. Dosunmu is averaging 15.2 points, 2.7 rebounds and 3.2 assists while shooting 52 percent from the field, 47.5 percent from 3 and 86 percent from the line. This is an efficient, smart basketball player who could make a real difference in several rotations league-wide, especially for teams that have a spacing big. The Dosunmu-Jalen Smith combination for the Bulls has been quite good this year, with Chicago actually winning those minutes by about six points per 100 possessions.

The former Illinois All-American is on an expiring contract worth only $7.5 million, too. That means he's available for just about every team in the league, including those that are limited by apron and salary-cap thresholds. Even teams such as the Lakers, Rockets, Knicks and others can theoretically get in the bidding for Dosunmu, and all of them could use him. Because the market could end up being a bit wider, I would expect that Dosunmu would return more on the market than what people expect.

    Ellis

    Keon Ellis
    [IMG]
Ellis is the King who has received the most interest on the trade market to this point, per league sources, largely because of a combination of his contract and perceived value. I think, at times, Ellis' ability gets a bit overstated. He is a limited offensive player without a lot of ballhandling skill. He's also quite skinny, which means that he's not quite a full-on switchable, stopper with All-Defense caliber-upside on that end of the court.

However, Ellis can bring energetic defensive play with excellent, disruptive hand-eye coordination. He can take on tough defensive assignments in the backcourt. Then as a shooter, he's been a 42.1 percent 3-point marksman for his career (37 percent this season), excelling as the fifth offensive option on the court who can space from the corners or in relocations above-the-break. You have to guard him, although I don't think of him as a guy that you run off-ball actions for, either.

The key here, though, is that Ellis still only makes $2.3 million, meaning every team in the league can theoretically get involved in a potential bidding war. He will be an unrestricted free agent at the end of the season, but the team that acquires him would have his full Bird rights and a low cap hold. The asking price is thought to be in the range of a late first-round pick. Other teams around the league, though, are struggling to answer the question as to why he doesn't play more on a team that could theoretically use his defense and off-ball shot-making. That might hold it back to a couple of second-rounders

if his price is really just a late first, then i would think knecht and a swap should be enough? seeing how much smart helps us just makes me more sold on ellis's fit. his major minuses (slight frame, limited on-ball guard skills) really aren't as big a deal here was they would be in many places.

really frustrating for me that the kings are kind of not really using him and we could desperately use him.

i don't think dosunmu is available for what we'd offer.

Positive I will take out of tonight. Thieros close out on James Harden. I loved it. Great defense energy. You can see that big body get in front of him. And he had the speed. James didn’t know to go step back or go around him. He couldn’t get there to his spot. Thier gonna need to start doing that more with him.

if I was coaching him all off season we’d be shooting 1,000 corner 3 point shots a day.

with his athleticism he can be an all star.
