I think they could break the Warriors record....and ultimately end up like that Warriors team in the playoffs.

On the pod yesterday, Irwin threw out a name to keep an eye on: Saddiq Bey. Said he has some fans within the organization. Woike also mentioned him the other week as well.

When I was going shopping on their roster, I mentioned him as an idea the other week. He's not that 5th starter we need, but is a playoff rotation level wing.

Gabe for Bey and Alvarado works on the machine. We'd need to throw some 2nds in there. Especially if they're going to be loco with their asking price on Herb and Murphy.

It's not a home run, but if we're making moves on the margins vs a big swing it's not a bad route.

In that scenario I still look to dump Maxi and DK for something, cause he's definitely not playing if there's Bey and Thiero on the bench. Salary wise that puts you in the Mann/Gafford/Toppin range.

I think JJ is relatively safe absent there being someone out there that really blows them away. We've just done the coaching carousel thing too many times over the last decade or so. He will get a chance IMO. I expect the coaching and training staffs to be beefed up over the summer.

Rob is more interesting. Much depends on if they've already got their guy they want to run things or not. Again, I don't think they are in a rush to blow things but the various forms of infighting that used to go on is completely out of the window and won't be tolerated.

I'll add that a good chunk of that depends on how much of the internal issues were on the various individuals and how much of it was because of how Jeannie ran things (I vote Jeannie to be fair to the others under her in the org).

No Wemby tonight. That should mean a W that sends us to Vegas for the Semis.

If we play with energy we should be fine. Smart will help a lot with defensive intensity.

spurs still have several athletic guards, which is kind of a sore spot for us. they've been winning without wembanyama, too.

Mark never fired Dave Roberts. Dave worked hand by hand with Friedman. They work well together. All that other s*** was Jeanie and her brothers that’s out the window.

if Jj and Rob work well together and communicate well then they’ll both be there. If they don’t then one will be gone.

these coaches like Jordan Alt are good. And they’ve paid their dues. But Phoenix hired the right guy. Didn’t go retred.

I think JJ is right as long as he’s winning. I think JJ is safe as long as he’s winning. Hes got a little Sean Mcvay to him.

I don’t see any wonder kids coming up in the NBA.

they say Jared Dudley is pretty good. As far as a Friedman type. I can argue Masai. Because his track record is there as far as player development. And he knows what he’s doing. Mark Walter likes that.

I’m sure Jeanies deal was you can stay here for 5 years. Put your face as Owner of the Lakers. But if there’s any other s*** that’s it your gone. So I’m alluding to any issues with back door s*** with Rob or other staff.

Walter likes a very organized team even Magic don’t be chirping. Magic shows up to games claps his hands and does postgame interviews and that’s it.

You’re sure. Ummm OK. Mark and Jeanie have known each other years with him having a minority piece of the team. Maybe, though I know it’s not You …. “I think” is more accurate. No biggee you’ve been a breath of fresh energy around here.

huge bummer, as this bodes very poorly going forward. imo, he might have been the best non-jokic center in the league on the rare occasion he was healthy. i realize that sounds crazy, but some numbers support it, too.

It’s a figure of speech meaning I’m sure as I’m sure the guys are ready to play. Meaning I’m sure her deal is a figure head deal. Not anything that’s close to what has went on with the nepotism. Or the friends making moves or Rambis sitting in meetings. Yes they were partners but he’s running the team now. And this is the same partner who fired her two brothers who were scouts and personel with the team.

i mentioned in another thread that i like tim connelly. built denver, then built minny. was kind of forced by finances to make some tough moves but maintained a competitive roster.

i'm not sure i agree that the knicks are good. if they're good, then we're great, put it that way. they stole our blueprint and did the temu version, imo.

spurs have fallen way off over time, imo. no wemby lotto luck and there's nothing there.

golden state actually sucks. their success rides fully on the fact that the gm mostly does what kerr wants.

i actually agree that boston is very well-managed. stevens is way better than ainge was.
