This sequence. This is what he's capable of.

I would start him if Luka and Smart stay out for another game or two. He's so big and such a freak athlete try out what Houston is doing with mega huge lineups and what are you really losing from Cardio Gabe minutes?

I really like what I’ve seen from him so far in very few minutes. Let’s get this guy some more playing time.

Adou elevates our athleticism with an almost bullying presence. 20 minutes a game and watch him explode. Hopefully JJ recognizes the obvious. We would have seen this Austin sooner if previous coaches had not been too scared to give him the minutes he earned and should have gotten.

lol weird play. two toronto guys set bad screens, then reaves just sort of fall asleep and allows a layup. not one for the ages. but yes, good chasing and squaring from thiero.

...with Thiero, Smith and LaRavia, we have a very capable, young future.

Best combination of size and athleticism for a wing since Lebron James? But a defensive focused version.

What I have liked seeing in his limited time on the court is that he is not too excited, plays within himself. He is athletic but mentally calm. He is not stressing much, at least outwardly. Makes smart plays and doesn't let things rattle him too much. Putt that in contrast with Knecht who let things rattle him.

The THING is .... Adou used to be a point guard in HS, and continued handling the ball even after his crazy growth spurt. He can put the ball on the floor, has moves, and touch with either hand around the basket, on top of being another legit vertical threat besides Ayton, LeBron and Hayes. Jake and Rui to a lesser extent. Point being he doesn't have to rely on just hitting catch and shoot 3s to contribute on offense. Rebounds too.

    you mean here, i assume?

yeah, AD was a pg, too--and it shows, imo! but as we discussed in a different thread...this isn't the game in which he was a pg.

i didn't see a lot from college film indicating that adou's a guy i want flooring and creating. who cares, though? anunoby makes 40 million a year, and adou has that potential for sure.

let's see if we can develop it.

Dig this guy's length and athleticism. Really good D, but un-smart fouls and his passing needs to be crisper, but I see a lot of potential.

Every time I see him he reminds me of Kuminga.

20 minutes off the bench, only Smith got more burn. JJ rewarded last night's play.

    Good D. Good instincts.

He needs to be in the rotation for 20 mins a night. His profile is what we need as our 5th starter, a defensive 1-4 guy that is athletic (and can shoot). The quicker we can develop Adou, the better we’ll be.

His POA defense is like Reddish. Just in your face not afraid of getting blown and/or confident about closing the gap that he puts a lot of length into the dribbling pockets.

And no it's not a knock that's a big compliment because Reddish weirdly was an elite level POA defender at times. He's got way more strength and hops then Reddish so should avoid being overpowered which Reddish had a habit of getting down to him against guys like Tatum

Also pretty impressive as a second round rookie the C Bags were running picks on him right and left to get him off Brown and White

Reddish was a good defender, it’s jsut a shame his shooting never broke out. Adou is significantly more athletic than Reddish and seems to have good instincts on the defensive end. I said earlier this season that he needs to hang his head on defense and I believe that. To me it’s not a pipe dream that he could play his way into the starting 3 spot by the end of the season if we don’t trade for a piece.

    Luka / Gabe
    Reaves / Smart
    Adou / LaRavia
    Lebron / Rui
    Ayton / Hayes

If you’re not gonna play Vando, then Five Guys needs to lean heavily on this kid going forward. The need for a defensive wing is obvious. Five Guys can’t get frustrated and abandon him when he will inevitably make rookie mistakes and screw up. Let him play through his mishaps and get meaningful on the job training.

some really good sequences. my favorite was probably when brown tried to push off and thiero just chucked him on the ground.

i've seen enough; he needs consistent minutes.

I think we shouldn’t trade for Herb and let Adou develop instead. Herb is having a bad year and a half stretch and what’s the point of sending out a 1st for him, when Adou’s defensive potential is comparable.

    Get me Ellis instead.
