let off the gas after basically having it sewn up, pretty soft on defense throughout, though.

anyway, hard to beat a team twice in a week, even if they're bad. i'll take the stack of ugly wins we have, but agree that until we start getting more pretty wins, we're not in that top group.

i'm still not thrilled with the starting lineup, tbh. penetration and scoring from league average guards just feels automatic.

Good teams find a way to win which is what we did

These kind of wins make a difference at the end of the year standings

Title teams have always been top 5 in pt differential except probably the Rockets in 95. So it's not looking good

History definitely suggests that point differential is a good predictor of playoff performance. And OKC is the clear favorite as reflected on their point different.

Lakers team is weird though as they had so many injuries. I'd like to see what they look like healthy after a few weeks before worrying about point differential. Pacers point differential wasnt great last year as an example

So my statement about title teams still stands

This starting 5 has to be changed. If you're not trading for a wing, start Smart. He'll be passable with the looks he'll get at 3, and he's competent enough offensively to make it work.

Rui and LBJ just don't work, IMO. We need a different look. IMO.

Meh OKC was supposed to steam role thru the playoffs based on their point differential ended up needing 7 games twice and lucked out in both a injured Gordon and halliburtons Achilles.

    Stats are predictive not prophetic

it was their first run through

I fully expect them to dominate even more this year unless there is some type of issue

That there is called a “nutmeg” in Futbol. I’m sure Luka also played Futbol(soccer) growing up and just adapted it for bball. I haven’t seen him try it before, but I’m sure we’ll see it again.

Most aren’t going to like this but switching out Rui with Vando will start to solve our rebounding/athleticism/speed issues.
Of course I would rather have someone in there who can shoot and do the dirty work, but we need to trade for him.
More minutes for Maxi and less for Jaxson would also help our defense. Maxi isn’t a world beater on d, but he’s ten times smarter than Jax and doesn’t pick up fouls every single time someone takes him on.
Scratch that- don’t insert Vando. Instead, put Jake in as a starter. He can shoot and defend. I don’t care if he hasn’t been a starter in his career before, he’s pretty much exactly what we need at the four, just at a lower level. Who knows, he still has room to grow and I’m sure he could get there after playing alongside Luka and Austin for a season or so.

Isn’t this JJ’s job? Ya know, to ensure that the ball and players move when they don’t have Luka or Austin making an amazing one on one play.
Currently, our team is just way to predictable in offense and would be lucky to make it out of the first round against a good coach.

It had never played a single second together in any NBA game. And he sticks with it for the last 6 minutes, going -10 and almost losing the game. Clown shoes.

So, when he first made that pass under the legs of KL, it was trickier than anyone spoke about. Shouldn't that have been either passing to himself or steps or something?? But then I noticed that he actually bounced it off of the lower side of KL's leg, missing the foot by inches, so it couldn't be a kicked ball or a pass to himself. Maybe I am wrong about passing to himself but it seemed to me that he had control of the ball and that without that graze of the leg that would have been a bad call against us.

    I considered it a dribble?

Can you dribble the ball while taking four steps between a dribble?
    That seems like a pass!

i'm pretty sure the rule doesn't state that you can't take multiple steps between dribbles. you just can't be carrying the ball while doing it. "passing to yourself" is only a problem when the ball doesn't hit the ground (or the backboard, i guess). otherwise, i think all bets are off?
