This modern era demands constant full court sprinting, nonstop off ball movement, and quick changes in direction, so you are going to see all kinds of strains and sprains, especially with players who are well over 220 pounds (or around 100 kilograms). The human body is not built for this. The Andre Miller days are long gone.

There you go. Hips, ankles, knees, all the joints, calves, plus the groin area, it is simply too much strain with this style of play. And since the style of play is not going to change, players will need more time to recover before they put stress on those same vulnerable areas again. So the conclusion seems obvious, no more back to back games. The real question is, will that actually happen?

Get rid of the stupid NBA Cup and play-in. More importantly, make the schedule more regional. More division games and play out of conference games only once. Less travel, more rivalry building schedules. Playing back to back in the same city isn’t as taxing.

Silver really needs to get his head out of his a**. This s*** should have started happening after Covid.

    word, steve.

anyway, yeah, the league (and the players) won't do anything until it hurts revenue. but we may approach that point soon. when boston won a couple years ago, they didn't play a single opponent at full strength. i think it ended up not mattering to most because boston felt like the best team anyway, but when some 5th place team everyone knows wasn't a top-5 nba team wins a ring because everyone else got hurt...i think it could impact things.
