I cannot wait to see this guy in action. A lot to learn, but as JJ stated, he has the motor. Going to help us. He has to earn his way but coach doesn't automatically dismiss him bc he is a rook. Big mistake by many.

With Austin's professionalism to guide him, he might develop quicker than the average joe. I have very high hopes for Adou.

Looking forward to seeing this kid in action. I'm guessing he'll probably make his varsity debut, somewhere around the middle of December.

And you guess wrong Slick ….. wooooo!! :D Maybe. Just had a tweet pop up on my phone from Trevor Lane that the Lakers have recalled him from South Bay.

They open the season next Friday and he has been practicing with them we know. I’m now guessing he has looked healthy enough and good enough that they want him with the team for the back to back with Miami today and Portland on Monday. Buckle up Guys!

Have a good feeling about this!! Doesn't even have to be a great 3 pt shooter at first. Can handle the ball pretty well and finish left and right handed plus unlike Vando is def a lob threat.

I know he's just a rook, but I really like this signing and I'm hoping Thiero can be that defensive spark plug we need him to be off the bench.

"Just a rook"s play all the time in this league and some produce their first year if they've got the goods. In addition to his freakish athleticism, huge hands and apparent high end defensive potential and vertical threat on offense, let's remember he was a point guard in HS, before his growth spurt and apparently also after it.

    Google:
Yes, Adou Thiero played point guard in high school, often as a combo guard, even after a significant growth spurt that changed his playing position. During his junior and senior years, he led his high school team in both scoring and assists, handling the ball-handling duties.
    • Initial play: He initially played as a point guard when he was smaller in high school.
    • Growth spurt: After a significant growth spurt, he was often described as a "jumbo point guard" or "combo guard".
    • Role: Despite his size, he continued to handle point guard duties, leading his high school team in assists.
    • Stats: In his senior year, he averaged 23.3 points, 10.3 rebounds, 5.9 assists, 3.9 steals, and 2.3 blocks per game.

I agree, let the kid play first, then start with the superfluous admiration.

Yes. But I think the "he has to be able to knock down 3s at a decent 3 & D per cent" isn't necessarily so, way more than with Vando. Adou is a vertical threat and can handle the ball some and finish with either hand around the basket. Up to JJ to figure out schemes to get him playing time IF his D and overall impact is substantial.

Hopefully we put this one away and can give him some real burn in the 4th.
