As a Laker fan I’m pissed Nico got fired.

really f***s us up. In the nba when you have a GM like that you want to pick there pocket and get as much as you can. When I was in the league that guy was David Kahn former Twolves GM who was a newspaper writer who took over for Kevin Mchale.

what they should’ve got was Reaves and Davis for Luka and Klay and dumped that Klay contract on us. They still could’ve got Christie just gave us a young guy to make it work.

but he got Davis with bad calf injuries down side of his career. Always injured and the wear and teare on his lower body is a lot. Hes 33 for a guy who’s 26 a superstar. Made no sense but hey we’ll take it.

 

What gets me irqued up I was hoping for a LeBron James trade to Dallas for Anthony Davis.

Luka was traded for Anthony Davis and Max Christie.

So in this NBA to get Luka Doncic in a trade especially for what we had what we were offering is insane. With Davis we were f***ed Lebron eventually retiring. We were probably going to have to trade Davis to get young and rebuild. But we traded Davis and got the best young pure scorer in the league. It’s insane. Luka is the man.

Basically this trade was like trading Kareem or James Worthy in 1991 or 1990 for Michael Jordan.

I mean do the Kings expect to get a lot for Ellis now? Looks like he's in the doghouse. Close game against the Nuggets, and I was hoping to watch him instead I get the f***ing pleasure of having to watch Brick again.

I don't think they get a lot of leverage the way they are playing this out- I would go for the Gabe/max/Knect package for those 2. the price of Ellis is the Lakers taking monk's contract

 

I mean this does happen. Our Dodgers we got Mookie Betts for Alex Verdugo and Jeter Downs because the Boston Red Sox did not want to pay him a contract. This is after he won a World Series with them.

 

I'd do that trade, I still like Monk. I haven't been all that impressed with Ellis tho, going back to last season. I know he's an advanced stats darling and all that, but the idea that he's worth a 20M contract or so, I just haven't seen THAT guy tbh.

 

i think it's like if caruso would have played for a s***ty team to start his career instead of a title team. he's not an offensive star.

i'm actually pretty happy he's not playing because it drives both his trade value and FA valuation down. can't overestimate how bad the kings organization has been for a really long time now.

 

I think they trade him. I expect a few of the east teams to look at it, Bucks probably, Knicks probabaly call. Heat seem like they’d pair him with Adebayo for an unbelievable defense.

AD’s value has also really been tanked by the whole trade situation. I’ve seen people act like he has minimum value.

 

Ellis and Grimes are two players I’m keeping an eye out on.

I would have tried a sign and trade for Grimes before the season began. Lock him into a 3-4 year 20m contract. I think he is a 20-5-5 guy in a third role. He is probably playing himself into a bigger contract this year.

Ellis on the other hand isn’t playing and maybe that’s a signal we could swoop in to get him.

Both guys hit the 3 and can defend 1-3. Grimes is better offensively, while Ellis is better defensively.

 

pretty sure deal with milwaukee is basically impossible, but wiggins/rozier for AD works, i think (not sure if rozier's contract can be traded right now, though).

but that trade makes miami a threat to come out of the east, imo. dallas could use wiggins at sg since thompson is dead, and they get some wiggle room under the tax/aprons from rozier's expiring.

but tbh, the list of suitors for AD is probably pretty short right now, just due to the recent recurrence of his injury woes and his very large contract. teams are really starting to get antsy about over-30 guys with huge deals, imo.

 

Lol..AD's value always tanks when he's hurt. Folks always act like he almost done. Then he comes back, and balls out, then he's top 10 again. That's the Anthony Davis experience.

 

yeah, just looking at rosters around the league it's hard to find a sensible trade partner, imo.

 

I don't like AD and Bam together offensively. Two guys that like to occupy the same places on the floor with neither quite good enough to be your offensive hub. A bit like Franz and Paolo together in Orlando. Defensively they'd be pretty great.

Idk if the money works but a straight KAT for AD swap would be interesting. AD can play some minutes at the 4 next to Robinson, but unlike the Mavs they'd have an excellent ballhandler in Brunson to help make that work. And they could bring in Hart and close games with AD at the 5. Dallas still gets to be huge, but they have a much better shooter at the 4 to open things up.

I tried to make a Conley/Gobert swap for AD work but couldn't barely missing. If they could get it work via 3rd team I would definitely consider if I was the T wolves. Give Dallas financial relief and Dillingham
