LOL South Bay has posted an opening for their own DOOM writer. Spoiler: See application https://southbay.gleague.nba.com/roster
think i said it elsewhere, but i was confused as to why timme hadn't found a roster spot in the big league. he's a little undersized for a center, but he's just so smart and skilled.
Right out of the gate, he got to work I haven't seen any growth from Koloko since getting him. Might warrant swapping that 2-way contract. There's also potential for a lineup combination that would be a very unique 5 man group.
Still don’t understand how Lakers were able to take Drew away from Brooklyn organization. He did well enough on offense at least for the varsity last year. Why not keep him on their G-league team or as a 2-way. Sign me up too for Koloko’s 2-way transferred to him. Quickly.
Rolled the Valley Suns 2nd night in a row, up like 20 all the way. There’s a LOT of talent on South Bay and fun to watch. Manon put up 31 tonight and Timme scored big again. Manon had not 1, not 2, not 3 but 4 highlight blocks in backboard / rim area. Wonderful athlete. And that Tevian Jones might be even more explosive running the floor. Eye catching acceleration. Marčiulionis looks good! Strong for his size … 6’3-4”. Other players too. They should be up near the top this year.
manon's shot looks a little funny coming out of his hand, but he seems to be making them early, both on the catch and off the dribble. that could accelerate his development, for sure. interesting that they have timme playing some pf. i figured his only shot was as an undersized backup center, but maybe they think he can get across the floor defensively (i did not see much evidence of this in college).
Speaking of the athletes on South Bay, without Thiero even being there yet, here's some highlights from Tevian Jones (I mentioned above) last year (not sure where this is).
oh, and re: timme again: the more i think about it, the more it really seems to me that this guy needs to work on his body/strength. the primary difference between him and say, sabonis, is that sabonis is cut out of stone. that may be difficult, but other guys who came into the league kind of built like me in my mid-40s have shown visible gains in this area. just sayin'
yeah, we were clearly just clueless in that draft, lol. btw, always fun to go back and read thoughts at draft time: https://soaringdownsouth.com/2023/06/23/atlanta-hawks-kobe-bufkin-comparisons-draft/ floor: coby white realistic comp: tyrese maxey dream: bradley beal
