Fortunately, Vando doesn't have to become a three point assassin. He just needs through some combination of skills to be productive enough offensively that we can have him out there for defense. Again, I don't think anyone is expecting miracles, we just need enough.

Shooting under 30% from three when teams leave you wide open is bad.

No ifs and buts about it.

Vanderbilt has to be better. I get that he's spent most of his time rehabbing injuries but he's literally unplayable at times which is a shame because he could be one of the better 3-D players if he just had an acceptable three point game.

    ---------------------------------

Utah is on crack thinking they will get AR and two first-rounders... I wouldn't give AR up for Walker. If they value Walker that much, why would you not offer him an extension? Lakers already have Ayton... Not saying Walker wouldn't be a great fit with the Lakers but it's a much different scenario than just having Hayes. Lakers shouldn't be desperate with a Walker trade. Either way, I don't see why the Lakers would want Walker atm. Ayton was likely promised a starting role with 30 minutes per game. Unless you can find a way to pair Walker with Ayton up, I'd rather the Lakers be patient and let it play out. I think Ayton is going to benefit tremendously with Luka and it might be a scenario where you keep Ayton long-term if he ends up being a 20/12 with good defense player. Plus, Jokic/Giannis might be available in 2027 so you can't risk losing out on them for a guy like Walker.

    ---------------------------------

Lakers offering LeBron an extension would be criminal UNLESS LeBron takes significantly less than what he's getting paid currently... Lakers have to prioritize Luka. If LeBron can't understand that, there's nothing left to say. I'd go as far as saying that Reaves is a higher priority for the Lakers in the upcoming offseason than LeBron. Not saying LeBron isn't a better a player but LeBron isn't exactly a great fit with Luka and he's hit his limit as a player. He won't get better so you can't be paying him top dollar when you can't build on him as a long-term player. I'm curious as to what you think the Lakers should offer him. IMO, a two year, $40 million dollar contract is more than fair IF LeBron wants to still compete for titles and help the team complete a better roster. 2-3 more titles and he'd undeniably be the GOAT.

    ----------------------------------

I like the J.J. extension. The AD trade really messed up the roster schematic but you have to make that trade for Luka so I don't think it's fair to judge JJ off of how the playoffs went until he's had a full training camp with the core. I have a feeling JJ will be a long-term Lakers coach and it'd probably make a ton of sense because I'm tired of seeing a new coach every other season. Let the coach grow and learn so that there is a proper long-term system in place. It'd be like firing Phil Jackson after his first season coaching the Bulls.

    ----------------------------------

I wouldn't have my hopes high on Wiggins. Miami doesn't want to do LeBron any favors and my guess is they leaked the story to try and get teams to bid for Wiggins. I don't see Miami getting a comparable player in return for Wiggins, anyways, so they probably just hold onto him until midseason.

I’ve been saying. Read all of my quotes this has Uncle Dennis written all over it. If you know you know. Uncle Dennis wanted to get paid and made sure he got paid. Like I said he’s been pimping out his nephew. Like getting Kawhi his boy the trainer job with the clippers. Jeremey. This will be an uncle Dennis ban. Kawhi has never stood up to uncle Dennis. And all the clippers do is say YES to uncle Dennis.

Should have asked for a statue while he was at it. What a toxic environment, sooooooooo glad we dodged that bullet.

i'm confused on the timing of this discussion. like, it's possible that this was the ask back at the deadline or during the early parts of summer, but as others said, we got ayton and aren't desperate for a center right now.

if this is a utah leak, i guess it may be posturing for next year's FA, where they theoretically have space to sign reaves outright. but...they had that space a couple years ago and wouldn't make reaves what became a below-market offer in RFA. like SA, my guess is reaves remembers them not even playing ball to help get him paid (which would have weakened a conference rival--imagine if we had those balloon payments last year and next year).

anyway, there's no way i'm offering reaves for kessler. if ayton doesn't pan out, there may be a situation wherein we can make a big RFA offer to kessler next summer. utah hasn't extended him and has dangled him in trades for two years. guessing they don't want him clogging their cap.

I didn't say I couldn't remember what it looked like.

    :Fishwink:

I said, and just did it again, I scroll all the way through your Emoticons library and I don't "think" it's there. What other "player group" is it near? Zu's other gifs are in there. I go the other route and search on his name in the Laker Files section and it doesn't come up.

I started to migrate stuff to another platform, but never completed it. It's here. The reason it wasn't on Lakergifs is that I didn't put gifs on that site that we used here on this site. but that was long. long ago.

Great point... They probably did. Highly doubtful the Lakers trade Reaves for a 18 mpg Kessler. Also, Redick likes to go small at times. Lakers might be investing significant money in Ayton after he has a strong showing this season. This gives the Lakers leverage if they actually do still want Kessler. It would be more like Knecht, 2031 unprotected 1st, 2032 2nd, and 2027 1st (1-4). That's basically the best we could do, before December anyway. In December we could ad Thierro, or recent signees like LaRavia, but idk if I would want to part with those guys. Thierro has a ton of upside.

I'm keeping an eye on Kessler next summer or maybe at the deadline if Ayton doesn't work out or works out so well that he becomes too expensive.

Luck of the health lotto every team every year. Throw in to the Memphis mix the necessity in 6’2” Morant’s brain to always be going for poster dunks over and “through” guys 10 inches taller.

So what big is playing for Memphis

Grizzlies» has problems in the front line.
The team reported that the forward Brandon Clark arthroscopic surgery will be required due to synovitis of the right knee joint. The problem arose during the preseason and is not related to a posterior ligament strain in the same knee that Clark suffered in April.

After the operation, the basketball player will miss at least 6 weeks.

Who knows if he is ever going to play again. It's really too bad, but professional sports are brutal.

    Who is that?
The Lakers have signed guard Jarron Cumberland, likely on an Exhibit 10 deal, and waived forward Arthur Kaluma, who was with the team for Summer League

He and Leonard for years now but it was AD getting mocked with the Street Clothes dissing when a lot of his injuries were of the s*** happens variety from as hard as he played all over the court and in the air, not to mention prior to the recent groin injury prior to the trade he was a relative iron man for a Big for a season and a half.

yeah, that s*** drove me nuts. and again, a lot of it from our own fan base. AD has been similarly available to a lot of stars, tbh.
