Can We all agree that Luka Doncic doesn’t need to play Euro League Basketball?

I’m just over this s***. Dude signs the biggest contract of his career. And some guy just falls on his leg. Glad he’s not hurt. But when we’re talking about a guy who came back from a calf injury I went nuts.

that’s exactly how Bynum got hurt somebody fell into him.

so yeah when I hear it you’re like just go play I don’t want to look but just get back to camp healthy.

any of this can happen and I know it can in pickup but damn. That’s the last thing we need.

In my Magic Johnson at summer league with Brandon Ingram waving the cut it sign. lol send his a** back to L.A.

We’ve seen a lot showtime documentaries.

I’d Love to see a Kobe Shaq 3 peat Lakers documentary.

Theres a story how this got rebuilt.

the mid 90s were rough. Team was winning but was not good.

    1. Hiring Phil

    The plan

Drafting trade of Kobe behind the scenes. Kobe’s workouts. Arm Tellem Charlotte New Jersey Caliperri wanting to draft him.

Kobe wanting saying he would play in Italy.

Shaq the signing. Did Orlando have a shot? How did West get in there the pitch?

I know some of this would have to be secondary interviews because sadly we don’t have Kobe here or Jerry West or Buss.

but would be so good to see.

8/24 coming up. So yeah to see the team going from being swept by Utah and San Antonio to a 3 peat and the best season by any team ever. Best playoff by any team ever.

I’d like to see a behind the scenes of some of the rivalries. In particular Lakers Kings but I want Lakers view points how that Carried the league. Kings viewpoints. Mike Bibby And Chris Webber.

and Lakers Blazers Rasheed Wallace Scottie Pippen Damon Stoudemire and Steve Smith.

I know we had the spectrum series 691 Birth of a Dynasty.

but this should be bigger and Cover go from 1995-2004.

    Yeah this is 09/10

I really wanna see the 1995-2004

The Kobe Shaq how it was put together and then the Dismantling of it.

this is really about how the team was rebuilt.

It would also show the Shaq trade behind the scenes of that the Contract demand.

and then Kobe resigning how close he was going to the Clippers. What got him back here.

there is definitely story there. I’ve always been intrigued by that era.

Gary Vitti did an interview kind of interesting.

Said how Kareem was doing Yoga before anybody knew what it was. That’s why he played so long. And avoided major injuries.

said the players are bigger stronger now but more injuries due to pace of play all the twitching and cutting.

So basically what we said. So guys are getting hurt but because they are playing basketball year round. And guys coming up played other sports basically didn’t realize when you’re coming up playing baseball and football and basketball you’re letting your body heal.

as opposed to all basketball. But like we said pace of the game is leading to more injuries. I agree with alot that he said. I wish he could advise us on some things to keep our players fresh.

The Legacy doc went into the 90s Lakers from rebuild to championship and back to rebuild on the fly with Kobe.

those pre-shaq/kobe 90s lakers teams were so much fun to watch despite their lack of playoff success

i was just looking at the 96 lakers roster the other day and its hard to believe this was a 50 win team. also crazy that magic got MVP votes

Winning organization still win even if they don’t win it all. The Lake Show teams in the mid 90s were fun to watch and very respected.

Ha! Forgot about Anthony “Pig” Miller. When I was a kid working as a valet at the early days of the Irvine Spectrum, he would roll up in his purple Lambo Diablo and demand that it be left up front. I was pissed since I wanted to drive it recklessly around our parking lot that was just out of range of the owners eyes.

Cedric Ceballos I remember people went crazy when we traded him for Robert Horry. I remember thinking well if Horry could shoot like he did for Houston. I remember them saying Horry can play with Shaq better. Better to have a shooter.

Ceballos was still 22 points a game. And Lake Havasou. If that happened today with social media?

Elden Campbell went to Morningside. Never was a player that played to his hype. Traded with Eddie to Charlotte. Actually played pretty good on Charlotte.

his highlight was 41 points on NBC against Patrick Ewing and the Knicks. But missed the bunny at the fourth quarter and Knicks won.

Great fun team. When Shaq came we were all shocked. He was picking a really young team.

Kobe was still raw. Like I remember Kobe had 33 in preseason against Philly at the forum and you could see it.

but yeah 95-96 Lakers were exciting they just couldn’t finish.

I used to see Derek Strong out a lot when he played for the Clippers.

Kareem was a martial arts guy as well. I'm closer to 70 than 60 and still enjoy playing hoops. Martial arts and putting about 80% of your workout time into your core and legs builds endurance and longevity. Need a few chapters to do justice but the type of muscle you build is a huge part of not only sports but enjoying life later. Sport cross training and time away is critical. Great topic.

yeah, the pace and the repetitive motion/lack of variety have to be big factors. i thought it was interesting how much luka cited not playing basketball (and playing squash or whatever) for a while as a change/positive in his summer routine this year.

yeah, those teams were fun to watch but maturity was an issue. ceballos going AWOL midseason, van exel yelling cancun in the huddle, bumping a ref and getting suspended. fun players to watch but you weren't going to win titles with guys like that

as much as it sucked losing ceballos, NVE, and jones, bringing in vets like fox, horry, rice, harper, etc was the difference between regular season success and winning titles. phil was the glue to top it all off. del harris was not coaching those teams to titles
