Shaq being Shaq is why I’ve disliked HIS personality more than LeBron’s. I’ll never forget the Kobe Kobe how does my *** taste blast he thought it was fun to hit him with.
The Kobe disrespect has gotten out of control since his death, with him not here to defend himself. I don’t know the context of Shaq’s quotes here, but I’m sorry, he’s wrong, those guys he listed didn’t win where they were for a reason, it takes incredibly special and clutch players to win 3 in a row, back to back, etc, not just any other scoring guards. Bleacher Report putting Kobe at 11th all time also made me roll my eyes, to me he’s top 3, but objectively at worst I don’t see how you can put him outside the top 8.
If Shaq really said that I really don’t know what to say. Absolutely ridiculous. If Shaq would’ve been in shape like Kobe said a few years ago before he tragically died we would’ve won 10 championships. He never took the game seriously and just relied on his physical and athletic ability. Complete opposite of Kobe, who had a legendary work ethic and was working relentlessly to get better every season. No one ever talks about how Kobe was the closer during those championship runs because Shaq could not hit free throws consistently. Ask Spurs fans how great Kobe was (I’m from the area) they would’ve won 3-4 more rings if it wasn’t for Kobe and they were already competing with us every year for titles basically at our peak.
There’s been a lot of Kobe dissing lately by his contemporaries. Bunch of beta males who wouldn’t have had the guts to say any of this if he were still living.
And in line with that, Kobe was always about talking up his peers, his last tweet was congratulating LeBron on passing him in points I believe
