Hey Bronny I'd imagine you're watching the Finals ... maybe even with Pops. You ought to be for sure. Unless it was all lip service about wanting to be a "good defender" 3&D type (originally at least until you added much improved handles and passing to MAYBE be able to eventually play some off the bench PG backup) ..... you should be watching how the really "good" defenders do it! None of them are out there with their hands down like how you usually have them on D.

The thing for me is I often forget how young Bronny is because we have been talking about him for so long. He is coming along nicely as much in the shadows as he can. The pressure he faces everytime he takes the court would daunt lesser dudes. I like his skill set and mindset. He will develop into a harassing defender and a confident shooter and passer. Instead of talking about trading for some injured guys to fill this role or that I hope we look internally first to see what we already got. There is a place in our rotation for this kind of toughness.
I said last year when Bronny was 20% less yoked and not as quick and explosive as this year …. that “that” 4 year deal was going to be a bargain big time for the Lakers. After he in season upgraded his handles, passing and his shooting trending upward. Seeing what he looks like right now 6 years before his prime at 220lbs and 6’3” in shoes like everyone else. He was 6’1.5” in socks. He’s a smaller LeBron that will out physical many 1s, 2s, 3s and thinner 4s. At some point this year I hope there’s situations where they allow and tell him to go out there and be aggressive with his best stuff like early first rounders get to do. If he had come out THIS year and looked physically like he does right now at this year’s combine with his all around skills where they are …. he’d be lotto. In the meantime he’s got a governor on him while first mastering taking care of the ball on offense and play smart basketball the way JJ wants it played.
Looked good on D against Dallas and even had a nice steal on Flagg(that they called a foul). He also had some good passes mixed in. I love it that he wanted to guard the number one pick.
