I think he'll be given a full coaching staff with blank checks, a full analytics team, team scouts. That app he was talking about them creating, well now they can deploy an entire IT team to make it the most function app on the Apple Store. If he doesn't succeed with all the new toys and benefits that a bottomless bank account can get you, then maybe they look elsewhere. But I think he'll have a couple years of runway to figure it out just as long as he and Luka are on the same page. JJ's a smart man, if there's one thing I think he'll do it's hitch his wagon to Luka. It'll just be nice not to lose out on assistant coaches because we're offending them with our offers or that we can't afford to put them in a hotel while they're working with one of the players during the summer.
^This. I think JJ is a forward-thinking guy—he really understands the game. As a rookie head coach, I thought he had a solid regular season. The playoffs were a different story though—he definitely struggled at times and got outcoached in certain situations. That said, I believe he’ll learn from the experience. He’ll get the right people around him, and I still have high hopes that he can grow into a very good coach in this league. I’m rooting for him.
Never heard of him, but then again, that's like 2/3 or 3/4 of the league for me these days lol. Sounds like a basketball lifer if he grew up around the game in the Robinson family.
