Brook Lopez? Thanks, no. He is 37 and not a guy Luka can throw alley-oops for the dunk...

Going to the Flippers- reported earlier.
He’s happy- gets to charge up on that adrenochrome to keep young and fresh in the bowels of that squeaky clean institution known as Disneyland.
I kid, I kid, but seriously, I used to enjoy the heyday of Disneyland as much as any other SoCal kid, but to be that obsessed over the place as a forty year old “man?”
Nevermind, I’m just wasting time, waiting to hear about our new dominating, world beating, fire in the belly big man, Ayton.

    1. For the next FIVE seasons!
That’s going to be the last straw for Giannis next summer when he realizes how much this screws his chances of getting enough help.
If I were him, I would be asking for a trade now.

If no miracle trade/signing happens in the next 24hrs, even the biggest Rob fans will have a hard time defending his a**. So far im perplexed by the FO's "actions".
The Dodgers guys can't take over this mess soon enough.

Rob just signed an extension and got us Luka. I'd say give him this season. New owners don't take over officially until 3rd or 4th quarter of this year. I would expand the FO, ASAP. I don't know all the parties included in the FO decisions, but I think we need to improve the quality of the "think tank" if there is one.

I hear all these critics saying Ayton won't be a good fit; I don't care about his behavior, I reallly don't give a f***. We need a center. If we fail on him and don't pivot via trade and bring back Hayes as the starting center, I'll be livid.

F*** go get Nick Richards if that's the f****** case. We signed Alex f******* Len last year.

And I'll be more pissed that we lost DFS and picks essentially for nothing.

    Deliver, Rob Pelinka.

you guys have to look at this from a business standpoint.

The NBA had a terrible NBA finals talking ratings buzz.

not trying to be conspiracy but you take over the off season Lakers vs Thunder NBA opening night Houston vs Dallas Lakers vs Dallas

If you have a Gianiss Luka LeBron

Wade LeBron Bosh was great for the NBA.

and who knows if that turns into a Luka Gianiss Jokic.

But all Silver cares about is Dollars. And he’s gonna make sure NBA maximizes his TV partners with interest.

Im sure players are talking and teams are talking. Just have to get your popcorn ready and let it unfold.

We ain’t doing all this holdup for Nic Richard’s.

I could see Rob giving Dave McMannin the source. Dave probably knows who the player is. And Rob probably said if you talk we’re done. No more sources for you.

Since Indy lost Turner, are they not a possibility for Ayton as well as a replacement? He's about half the price.

Yes Sirron, you want to ruin our expectations and add to our anxiety, Indiana could get Ayton… Happy now?

"My ways are higher than your ways. My thoughts are higher than your thoughts."

    --Rob Pelinka (Scripture inspired probably)

It's too early to worry. I think if we are holding out for Ayton to push us over the top, it will be a disappointing offseason. Chances are the young guy additions will be of limited help during their first season with us or during a maiden playoff run. Might be fun to watch though!

I tend to agree with this. Everyone is so full of s***, errr, I mean doom and gloom. They bore me to death. According to them, Rob ain't done squat. He didn't get AD, he didn't get DFS, he didn't get Luka, he didn't get Rui and he ain't getting anyone EVERRRRR!!!! Whatever, none of us will EVER know until the fat lady sings. If, in the end, he does nothing, then let Mark Walter do what he needs to do. But hey, most of these people will hate Mark by January anyhow. All these loud mouth haters are who drove me away from Lakersground. There, I said it.

Yeah there's a ton of people who just hate. Either for "fun" or just as a scapegoat of their own miserable lives. I mean complaining that the offseason was s*** 7h after it started has 0 sense. I don't even take it serious.
But I think here is quite filtered. The guys who participate the most are quite balanced and there's a ton of good discussions and insights around here

I lean more optimistic than pessimistic by nature. And the constant sky is falling doom and gloom is tiring - it's much worse at other forums/reddit than it is here. It's usually when we get knocked out of the playoffs or lose a particularly bad game that it flares up again.

But I have to admit, blind optimism is also annoying. We have to be honest and critical to improve.

There is a ton of critical analysis that I find pretty interesting and helpful and there are a ton of people here who have harsher takes than myself who I really enjoy, if only for the banter. But the complete negative meltdowns that completely negate all positive things from the past tend to drive me away. I think from the very beginning, getting Lebron put us on a trajectory, we did a lot of good things around that and unfortunately made some mistakes. Getting Lebron and AD here was an amazing feat, we did pretty good with building around them, but the Westbrook move destroyed us. Not sure if any other GM would not have made that same mistake given that your two top players seemed to be forcing the issue. If you want to get down to brass tacks, the mistake would have to be bringing Lebron here in the first place. But honestly, despite winning less rings than I had hoped, and knowing everything I now know, I would have brought him here too. The Lakers are making money and have vastly increased their franchise value and Lebron is at least a part of that, if not a big part. The Buss family has been smart and frankly I think they are smart to leave while the leaving is good. I suspect the NBA is at the top of their economic success, good time to cash out. I have hopes that Walter will make the team even better but I am really not trying to have too high of expectations. The NBA is a tough league, they have really tight control over the price control aspect of the players. Even the richest owners cannot continue to just pay whatever they want for players, the get limiting opportunities. Walters, on the Dodgers, has very few controls against player personnel decisions. They can spend what they want to spend, nobody is hindering them, and they do. This is never going to happen in the NBA, even if you go over the second apron, you can ONLY do that for a short time and then you have to dump everyone and start over from scratch. I personally don't like the system, nobody is going to be able to have sustained long term success without losing their best players along the way. The Thunder will not last an if the Spurs reach the top, they too will be short lived. Areas that small have no chance to be able to afford to pay these players these every increasing super max contracts, while getting dinged by the league for going over the second apron.

Point is, all teams are going to be up and down, all the time, unless the rules are changed. I am not going to get that angry over a condition that the league is TRYING TO CREATE. This seems to be exactly what the league and team owners want.

putting him in front of Zubac wouldn't be smart. I doubt this is true.
