    College unofficial measurement was 6-8.
Pre draft measurement was 6-6¼ bare foot

Never really understood the barefoot measurements. They play in sneakers. That's what I care about.

He should sleep with a photo of OG's annual salary above his bed. Work on that shot and that's your runway.

"He took 74 total threes in college. Pretty small sample size to draw any conclusions. He’s not an awful FT shooter and his form isn’t broken. He shot 36% from 3 on a 376 shot sample size and 78% from the FT line in high school according to these Max Preps stats (LINK: Max Preps), so there’s a chance he can improve if he just focuses on C&S. We’ll see."

I really like this pick. Thiero is so athletic, a pit bull on D, just has to work on that jumper. Nice that he's a second generation baller - his mom and dad played college ball here in the states and his mom got drafted by the WNBA. Stoked he's here!

It’s way too soon, but i love this kid. Explosive, athletic, quick, defense, anticipation.

I watched a decent amount of his highlights, and I immediately noticed he only goes right, doesn’t ever do a spin move, and no euro step. If he can develop some of these, and the shot, yikes!! Can’t wait to see this kid get some burn. He can take Rui’s spot if he earns it!!

Got Luka an athletic dawg for years to come. Not worried about his 3 point shooting one bit. That’ll come in time. Lessens the blow of us fumbling drafting Cam Whitmore for JHS.

    Like many have already stated

Development staff needs to work with him daily and help him with his deficiencies

Definitely has the skills and the talent

Hoping we bring in the top coaching staff and assistants

i actually prefer barefoot because it's meant to be a comparison. you can wear tall shoes or inserts that you don't wear in the game for measurements.

i also prefer standing reach and wingspan, as you don't play with your head. so your arms limit your functional size.

thiero's basically the same height as anunoby, but the latter has a slightly longer wingspan and taller standing reach (8'11" to 8'8.5"). thiero's got big hands, fwiw. i read somehwere that his hands kept growing, and they think it messed with his shot.

Especially in the 2nd round, will never complain about the team adding athleticism with some size.

most athletes of this level don't slip to the second round unless they have like, zero basketball skills. thiero doesn't seem to be totally unskilled. must have been that knee injury that scared folks off?

like, i liked the look of drake powell as a potential three and d guy, and he went in the first round. i guess he shot it pretty well, though. but his ft% was worse than thiero's.

Teams wanted to horde the centers from us so bad they let a legit wing fall to us. :D

I Grok his vertical leap lol

Adou Thiero’s ability to kiss the basketball rim, which is 10 feet (120 inches) high, provides a clue to estimating his vertical leap. To kiss the rim, his mouth must reach that height, so we need to account for his height, arm reach, and jumping ability.

Thiero is listed at 6’6.25” barefoot (78.25 inches) at the 2025 NBA Draft Combine. His standing reach is 8’8.5” (104.5 inches), meaning his arms extend about 26.25 inches above his head when standing flat-footed. To kiss the rim, his mouth needs to reach 120 inches. Assuming his mouth is roughly at the top of his head (a simplification), he needs to jump high enough to close the gap between his standing reach (104.5 inches) and the rim (120 inches), which is 15.5 inches. However, since his mouth is slightly below the top of his head, let’s estimate an additional 2–3 inches, making the required jump height around 18–20 inches to account for the exact positioning.

This is a conservative estimate, as it assumes a standing vertical leap with no running start. Thiero’s reported maximum vertical leap varies: a 2022 Pro Day measurement recorded 41 inches, while a 2023 training video suggested a 46-inch vertical, and a 2024 post claimed a 48-inch box jump. A running vertical leap is typically higher than a standing one, and Thiero’s athleticism—described as “nuclear” with a 7’0” wingspan—supports the idea that he could achieve a max vertical in the 40–48-inch range. To kiss the rim, he likely needs a running start, leveraging his documented explosiveness (e.g., 25 dunks in the 2024–25 season, ranking top 20 nationally).

Given these factors, a reasonable estimate for Thiero’s vertical leap, based on his ability to kiss the rim and supported by reported measurements, is approximately **40–46 inches** for a max running vertical. This aligns with his combine data (41 inches) and the higher-end claims (46–48 inches) from training contexts, considering the physical demands of reaching a 10-foot rim with his mouth.

:LLLLLebronlaughing: at Grok this paragraph below …. first his mouth is roughly “at” top of his head but then realizing how insane that sounded it gets conservative and drops it 2-3 inches.

I like the pick. He is great on defense and I saw a couple of breakdowns on his shot that make me think his offense can be developed.
