The other ridiculous part of this is that SGA is completely healthy right now. Luka was dealing with a calf injury. These are the stats.

Seriously .... it's like [IMG] you morons. As well look at Luka's scoring numbers to go with that in last year's playoffs while being hobbled with the calf. Look what happened to Tyrese once HIS calf got into less than healthy territory. (on another note I hope he doesn't push it too hard in Game 6 and wind up with the all too common these days ruptured achilles)

Hate to be that guy but looks like Tyrese did go ahead and pop it? These non contact achilles ruptures have a pretty consistent look to them now. (unless he “just” tore his calf) or something else in that vicinity.

But back to Luca it puts what he did in the playoffs last year with a potentially serious lower leg injury he too was risking like Kobe would have done and Tyrese too now into even sharper context.

Yeah, I just hope he’s gotten it back to 100% before playing in Europe this summer.

I have a feeling he will be careful after seeing Haliburton tear his achilles last night. I felt horrible for him. Indiana wins that game if Hali doesn't get hurt.

I can't wait to see him play next season. I think he's going to have the best individual season we've seen from a Laker since LeBron in 2020.

Can athletes recover when they truly just let themselves like Luka did for a couple of years. I mean, my Gosh, dude was Oliver Miller out there at point guard with a 3 ball.

A Pattern We Refuse To See

Sorry about this: geek/nerd author says calf strains presage achilles ruptures, and he makes a pretty good case for it. No mention of Luka here, but we all know Luka's history with calf strains. Hope he - and we - can avoid him going the way of KD/Tyrese/Jayson, et.al:

It's not the playing surface; it's the prior calf strains that we can't look the other way on. Tyrese's injury was totally predictable. Yikes!

well, the guy we traded for him also had a serious calf strain that killed the better part of a year, so if that's how it goes, that's how it goes.

and I believe the connection, but the most notable cases happened in guys who were playing on active calf strains, iirc.

this is why the Mavs shouldn't have been pressuring him to return and why I was mad when we let AD play in game 6 against phx that year. we were playing with fire.

Yeah calf strains to Achilles tear only correlates to athletic guys not obese Oliver Miller types

lol ok, but again, the article just points to guys playing on calf strains. not people who ever had a calf strain. the latter would freak me out a bit, the former is...obvious to even someone without expertise in physiology?

like when haliburton said before the game that they told him there wasn't risk of further injury, i was like...you mean they don't think you can tear your achilles like others have in the exact same situation?
