If OKC wins on Sunday they'll win the whole thing IMO. If Denver wins on Sunday, I think it's wide open. Minnesota has owned them recently and I think Denver/Minny/Indiana/New York are all fairly even. New York has to win tonight...right? Blowing a 3-1 lead with Tatum out would be an all-time letdown.

back to free agency--i'm very interested in how much paul reed signs for. he's not the answer at starting center, but he just seems like a guy who could provide some things we lack.

I don’t hate this idea. He could be more than serviceable and may turn into an underrated weapon on offense alongside Luka.

Well, he's not really a center in the first place. And his offensive game really needs some work.

you mean reed, i assume? yes. it's possible he's just jaxson hayes II. but metrics i like have liked him for a while now, and i think he's what jj wants at center.

Rob came up with Williams out of the blue, maybe he'll surprise us once again. I doubt we'll get a better player (for the same assets) than the cripple though.

if by "out of the blue" you mean we didn't expect as fans...i'd agree. but the only reason i didn't expect it was because i didn't see why charlotte would be sellers. same with kessler in utah--if they want to move him, you may want to think twice about why.

i feel like basically every possible situation has been discussed on these forums at this point, so i'm not sure we'll be really surprised by whatever happens. there are degrees of surprise, but not "nobody ever thought of this".

for example, i think rui for nunn was a "nobody has ever thought of this" type trade. not seeing that on the center market.

You doubt we’ll get someone better than a dude who may have a very short career in the NBA? Come on, I think Rob will most definitely get someone at least serviceable.

If Gordon can't go, it's almost a free win for OKC. AG has been HUGE for the Nuggets.

Yeah, Boston’s definitely done. They didn’t stand a chance without Tatum. Now we’re set for a classic Eastern Conference Finals showdown. The last time these two teams faced off in the ECF was 25 years ago, back when Reggie was leading the Pacers. And of course, we went on to beat them in the Finals after that.

Yeah, I've liked him for a bit now. Couldn't figure out how he struggled to find a better home after Philly (Det wasn't projected to be that good). Definitely a cheaper option to monitor.

This now 41 point game is my kind of Boston massacre. Hate it for Tatum, but this destruction couldn't have happened to a more deserving team. Such a joyous sight. A team who looked like they had one more 'ship in the bag get ran off the court in a deciding game at my preferred GARDEN.

I’d lean toward enjoying an OKC–NYK Finals, but honestly, I’m good with whatever happens at this point.

    Few interesting tidbits in there.

I've seen a lot of educated wishes about Maluach.

Some have mocked him at #8. If Nets take him, Claxton becomes MUCH more gettable and he already feels like the most attainable good option.

You’d be surprised. I did a bit of a deeper dive on what could be available, there’s probably 30-40 candidates without taking into consideration who I assume isn’t available.

I think since this isn’t our main job and we don’t have insider knowledge, it’s hard to see all of the possibilities.

I’d like to see OKC / Indy; two teams that have never won a trophy.

But I imagine the league really really really wants the Knicks in the Finals to keep the ratings out of the gutter.
