He rushed for almost 2000 yards last season. After contact. You can’t make that up.

His stats are like Tecmo Bowl level really. He is gonna get a lot of space with Brock and Jacobi pulling the secondary.

    Get ready for the superlatives.

NFL.com 7.15, the highest of any player in the draft, and .26 higher than #3 Travis Hunter.
    NFL.com rating 95/100
    NFL Draft Buzz: 92.5/100
Bleacher Report: 8.5 rating (1st rounder, year 1 starter)

Comparisons: LaDainian Tomlinson, Steven Jackson, Maurice Jones-Drew. These players totaled 11 Pro Bowls, 4 AP1, 5 AP2, 5 top-5 OPOY, and 1 HOF.

    Rookie Contract Projections
    Year 1: 213-950-9, 41-331-1
    Year 2: 264-1166-10, 57-405-1
    Year 3: 285-1346-13, 84-700-3 (That's a 2000-YFS season)
    Year 4: 296-1243-12, 48-343-1
In his first three seasons, that would be 3512 rushing yards, 32 rushing TDs and 182 receptions, 5 receiving TDs.
Notes: I projected Josh Jacobs at the following for his first three years (2996 rushing yards, 17 TDs, 100 receptions, 5 receiving TDs). He finished with 3087 rushing yards and 28 rushing TDs, 107-752 and 0 receiving in those first three.

Jeanty Projections: 3512 rushing yards, 32 TDs, 182 receptions, 5 receiving TDs.
Jacobs Actual: 3087 rushing yards, 28 rushing TDs, 107-752, 0 receiving TDs.
Jacobs Projections: 2996 rushing yards, 17 TDs, 100 receptions, 5 receiving TDs

Hard to stress the difference in the RB room from last year to this year. We've basically flipped Abdullah for Jeanty. I think Mostert can replace all Mattison offered us. Maybe White will be healthy. I don't know. I think Laube and/or McCormick are in trouble from a roster perspective.

    2024
    Mattison 132-420, 4 TDs
    Abdullah 66-311-2
    White 65-183-1
    McCormick 39-183-0
Top four RBs combined for 302 rushes, 1097 yards, and 7 TDs. Only one had a run longer than 25 yards.

I honestly think Jeanty will possibly destroy those projections simply because unlike with Josh he will have a coach that knows how to use and deploy a RB of his skillset. Take away the times he quit on us, Josh really had to fight to get gaps or get around the outside on most plays. I may be wrong here but I also don't remember Josh breaking a lot of tackles more so I remember him exploding past guys and shedding "some" tackles occasionally.

What was his Yards after contact?

I don't think White sticks. I think he proved he has no vision and he isn't the punishing back he is literally BUILT to be. I like Laube but he prob has a high hill to climb. Sincere is the one I think will make them keep him. The kid has shown talent but never getting the chance under Josh and AP until late which he def made the most of it. If we don't keep him someone will snatch him up and I think he will be a great back somewhere. I think Laube gets a chance especially being only on year 2.

Jacobs broke a ton of tackles early on. He broke a tackle every 9.3 attempts as a rookie. He had a sophomore slump and then was better in year 3 and 4 before a horrendous last year in Vegas.

SI.com reports it this way: "Jeanty topped 100 yards on the ground in all 14 games (a major college football record) and had 1,970 yards after contact in 2024. The school says he forced an unfathomable 164 missed tackles." Counting only YAC, he would have outrushed every RB in the nation by 200 yards.

Raiders pick #5 this round. Here are the ten best players available, according to ESPN.com

    Will Johnson, CB
    Mike Green, EDGE
    Nick Emmanwori, S
    Donovan Ezeiruaku, EDGE
    Darius Alexander, DT
    TreVeyon Henderson, RB
    Shavon Revel, Jr., CB
    Shedeur Sanders, QB
    Elijah Arroyo, TE
    Trey Amos, CB

I can't see us drafting another RB or a TE. That leaves 7 defenders and a QB. We need a WR, LB, and DBs.

I do remember Josh being a beast especially once he is one v one on the second level. I may have soured on his play the last two seasons which is why I wasn't so sure. If Jeanty comes in as good as early Josh J then he is in for a hell of a year and so are we.

This is why I was excited about him. He is going to be a menace once he hits the 2nd level. I haven't seen if he is straight line or if he has some change of direction in his game.

Ive seen some chatter that his injuries are a big concern for teams and that He may very well drop into the later rounds. I don't know personally but that is what I had heard about this kid.

He has awesome vision, awesome balance, and is elusive. The only real criticism as a runner is he doesn’t have “long speed,” but he ran a 4.47, and he doesn’t really get caught from behind unless he’s making moves or in traffic.

I haven’t seen him play really, but it sounds like the concern is that injuries will add up with him and limit how long he can be good.

I think we stay away from injury prone guys early on in the draft. If the team feels he can be healthy then im all for it but people much more knowledgeable than me have expressed a lot of concern.

I'm curious what we do for sure

Really interesting dude. Like a TE/WR hybrid. Great routes and hands. Good size. Strong as hell. 19 reps at the combine.

Honestly, I wouldn't hate it if we did. I think he'd be a steal at this point in the draft. You'd get 2 years of Smith, then two years of Sanders, possibly three on his rookie deal. And the money would be a pittance.
