Love AD, but happy to be moving on with a younger player, I think we got out just in time, the peak of his value

yup, trading AD at the deadline was a must either way. the lebron/AD lakers weren't winning another title and the org needed to prepare for life post-lebron. no one actually thought it'd happen and that the return would be luka though

i think had we gone play-in again, trading him in the offseason was highly likely, as was the possibility of lebron choosing to play somewhere else to contend for the last year or two of his career.

    but we had other plans.

i didn't think the deadline was the time until i saw what happened, lol.

If the Lakers got Mark Williams the way AR was playing that version of the Lakers would have gone deep in the playoffs

This team is really good as well but the FO unwillingness to invest around AD handicapped them. Not really blaming them considering AD age and injury history but damn Williams, AD, Max, AR, Lebron, Rui, DFS, Gabe, Hayes is a hell of a rotation.

If Nico didn't Nico I would be still pissed if they didn't make a move at the deadline to add another piece

Kuz looking like s*** vs Indiana in his first playoffs since Lakers.0 points,-19, only 3 shots, review for flagrant foul and he supposed to be second best player without Lillard
Or maybe it's Doc as a coach lol

Indiana has 24 points lead at half time

One of the sub links under that article is about a guy named Jack Perkins who has done an illustration for all 82 games of the season.

I can’t root for either Denver nor the Flippers.
I guess since I have to pick, it’s Denver so we can knock them out of the playoffs.

I agree with this. I feel there were backup plans in place. For example, a three team with CHI and UTA. The gist of of it is Bulls would have got AD. Lakers would have got LaVine, Kessler, etc. Utah would have gotten a pick haul and some players. This is just the bones of it. We might have also got some nice young filler players with potential, like Phillips or Terrty thrown in there and/or picks sent our way. People down play LaVine and act like he's over paid trash, but look what CHI got for him. Of course when you compare this package next to Luka it looks like trash, but come on. People would of been pissed that we traded AD, but we would have got players that fit much better with what Reddick (and the organization) is trying to do. LaVine would of provided the perimeter shooting, explosive scoring, etc. while Kessler would have provided elite defense and rim-running. Both are efficient in the way that they score, and wouldn't muck up the offense like AD did. For example, Kessler knows his role is just to basically catch lobs on offense, protect rim on defense and he does it very well. AD was high maintenance in a many ways, but in terms of having to keep him happy , and het him his touches was opposite of the offense Reddick was trying to run.
