watching gs/clips, and i still am annoyed that our reward for the three seed is probably playing gs.

also, both harden and kawhi look better than they have in a couple of years, tbh.

ac green's record of 1,192 consecutive games played will never be broken

yeah, this is the best team the clips have had since 19-20. would hate to be playing them in the first round

i'd be pretty shocked if kawhi's body is able to withstand multiple 7 game playoff series'. not like harden is an iron man himself either. but they're looking scary and if they end up facing denver in round 1, i'm betting on the clips

It might be only 16 games...
No need to play 7 if you're good. Looking at Zu makes me wanna strangle Magic... again.

100%. no way kawhi is standing four series in. but good chance he's standing on your throat at the end of round 1, whoever you are.

    yeah. my god...

yeah, making it way more difficult than it needed to be is classic choke stuff. and after he took credit for stopping kawhi when kawhi just did the same thing at the end of regulation (took a more difficult shot than he needed to, so as not to be the goat, small g).

Damn … every time I wrote off their team with the failed Leonard, George, Harden iterations and relax about them (earlier in the year after Playoff P bolted) … they crawl out of their damned coffin somehow. Man we made them look like our b**** that game with AD and Max gone and Luka on the bench and not even playing yet. They looked totally demoralized. Glad though we DO have Luka to rip Ballz’s heart out!

They might have to go from asking two firsts in return to ponying up assets to come off of his contract. Yikes.

I wanted him until Rui dominated him, Rui grew under JJ, and Grant has spent way too long on awful teams and bad habits have run amuck.

Well, they've been 19-3 in the last 22 games. Their addition by subtraction worked, Zubac and Powell took a big step and then adding Dunn, DJJ along with JVG shored up their defense.

Harden really is the ultimate floor raiser. Dude has never missed the playoffs. Morey maxing out PG over Harden has to be one of the worst moves ever! Maxey with Harden and scrubs probably would've snuck into the playoffs in the weak East. Heck, if you put prime Harden with Kessler, Markkanen, the jazz make the playoffs.

Draymond was just playing great defense on himself when it mattered the most to win the DPOTY.

it's an interesting issue on several fronts. first, i'm not sure kuminga the player has ever matched kuminga the fan theory--he looks like he should be good, but he was basically unplayable his first couple of years and just got to where he was rotation-quality the past two years. and that's really back-end rotation. ironic this conversation is happening alongside jerami grant because there are similarities in my mind--except that grant first established value as a 4th/5th starter before trying to ascend, whereas it feels like kuminga (and at times, gs's front office?) has been hoping to be cast as a potential star. that's unlikely, and a team trying to win games definitely can't take a flier on featuring kuminga, imo.

he's only slightly improved in his 4 years (his shooting has somehow gotten worse, despite it being an obvious point of focus in development).

on the other hand, you have kerr's obvious preference for playing with multiple guards on the floor. while one can argue that it's bad long-term planning to play hield and gpII instead of kuminga, it's hard to argue with the results from this year (the team plays better with those guys than with kuminga).

anyway, i'll be very interested to see if someone takes a flier on kuminga this summer. he's a RFA, and gs has some room under the apron. but they have to fill out a roster around their high salary guys. lucky for them podz hasn't gotten paid yet and hield and moody are on team-friendly deals, but still, jimmy/steph make a ton of cash. they've committed ~170 to just 8 guys right now (this doesn't include looney, gpII, or kuminga/whomever they trade him for). however, since it's an outgoing S&T, i think they've got some flexibility.

i just wonder if some team with a bunch of space (nets) won't just make a really big short-term offer in RFA instead of giving up players in return.

    anyway, it's a problem, imo.
