The airballs from the paint and shots of the side and and top of the backboard! I couldn’t make it through the entire reel, but it did provide me with some cathartic laughs.

THIS is why stats alone never tell the entire story.
Sure, the dude was able to put up a lot of counting stats.
He also was such a terrible teammate that one of the greatest scorers of all time refused to play with him anymore.
Those Thunder teams were so incredibly stacked with talent that they should have won at least One Chip together. Of course, it doesn’t all fall on Russ, but he was a big part of it.
Regular season stat stuffers will never be considered “great” in my book. What separates the great from the good is how they perform in the Playoffs and whether they can lead their team, or be an integral part of their team winning a Chip or not.
I will also never buy into the hanging of the Division Championship Banners either.
Anyway, I have a much higher standard of what being an “NBA Great” entails than others, and that’s okay.

If this is a trap, it's a pretty bad one. Let's just win this early, and rest our guys until the playoffs. D-League team vs Portland, Bronny with at least 20 points, 5 of those threes.

I think Jokic would absolutely hate to play in LA. It's the exact opposite of him.

    But yeah, you never know.

But either way, he's not a lob threat so not the best fit......ahahahah I kid, I kid

Malik Beasley has rebounded pretty nicely. Sometimes a change of scenery is a good thing.

    They couldn't... they wouldn't.

How many coaches are they going to pay to NOT coach that team?

OK, so my conclusion on The Trade, the NBA may have been in on this, there must be some slush fund, kickback, future guarantees, that goaded the Mavs into making this deal. ????? Honestly, I had not really watched Luka enough until now to know how good he actually was/is. But, now that I have, it seems unfathomable that anyone who actually knew his skillset, would even consider walking away from it. It would take a LOT to make me do that, EVEN NOW. As a Laker fan, I would not trade this guy for Jokic, even though it would be tempting, I would NOT do that. Knowing what I know now, IF the Mavs had tried to trade for Lebron, instead of AD, I would have done it. Luka is a game changer for us. I guarantee we will win a ring or two with him, if we can keep him.

Do you guys think that Whitmore still knows that we totally passed him up in the draft?
    Career high.
Yeah, I know, I was one who was really pulling for JHS to develop into something, but I had to- he was ours.

^^^ ..... surprised we haven't heard from @KareemtheGreat33 venting again. :D Though to his credit he took pity on JHS (allegedly) (I wasn't buying it :giggle:) and claimed he was now rooting for his adopted "failed" son.

Nobody’s scouting department gets it right every single draft- not even with the players who are labeled as “sure things” out of college or from over seas.
I will continue to stand by ours because overall, they have been very good at finding talent.
Austin’s camp felt that the Lakers would be a “good fit” for him, but our FO could have easily gone with several other choices and nobody here would have blown a gasket over it.
Now, we have the best third option in the League whom every other Franchise in the League would love to have- especially at his hilariously low salary for what he produces.

Man Cam looked good with Houston. Still pissed off about that but he would be Dallas right now anyway so no crying over that pick anymore for me

as someone who watched luka closely for several years, i'm sort of surprised people are surprised. like when he wasn't drafted #1 i was like...wtf are people watching?

anyway, he's that guy. fat or not.

dammit. i was pleased nobody had bothered, but i beg folks to look at whitmore's...every other game. i'm sure he really wanted to be drafted by us and saw an opportunity to make a point and seized it. great.

still was chosen to be left out on a team that wanted to win. i'm not really sure he's proven the folks that passed on him wrong in the two years he's had to do so.

yeah, even if he was ours, he wouldn't be. i don't care. we didn't miss on a star. how's ol' jaime jacquez doing, btw?

the mid-first round is a TOTAL CRAPSHOOT. we've won more than we lost. we lost on jhs, but not a lot.
