I'm so glad Brick is no longer out problem. Worst. Laker. Ever.

A lot of things can be true at the same time. LeBron and AD missing so much time really hurt that 2022 team. The supporting cast was old and sucked. Russ was a terrible fit and a detriment to the team. All three things are true. I never want to think about that season again.

Russ will never be remembered as a Laker

Looking back, I don’t blame KD for wanting out of OKC and playing with him.

Weren't the Lakers record 11-10 when all 3 were all available. They didn't look all that good together and the way Brick was playing before he was humbled I don't think they're much evidence that them being healthy would have made a team that was a legit threat to make a run

...wild story was it was Fisher who gave that nickname to him when they were teammates in OKC. Everybody just ran with it.

I mean this is absolute legendary. I know everyone has collective amnesia to that year but have you ever heard a home crowd audibly groan so loud when a player is going to shoot a wide open jumper that it drowns out the announcers on the TV broadcast? That was insane if you think about crowds typically cheer if you got a center like Dwight shoot a 3 because it's fun but a home crowd actually trying to get a player to not to shoot???

So you came to that conclusion based off them playing a few games at a time together? That's still looking for an excuse to keep blaming everything on Russ. Nobody wants to acknowledge what AD said on the subject either. Shrug..didn't work out, we moved on. I find the Westbrook obsession rather amusing. Slow night, bring up Westbrook, and the comments will start flowing. 3 years later..it's wild.

^@Pioneer10. We did that to Artest in 2010. I remember Game 4 (?) against Phoenix. Made up for it though with that insane follow up shot game winner.

I'm looking for evidence to say that it would work. I think pretty clearly based on how the same Lakers team completely took him out of a playoff series that the fit of Brick with AD/Lebron was going to be a challenge right off the bat. The lack of shooting, off ball movement, and his best attributes of posting up smaller players in the half court we're going to directly inhibit or duplicate AD/Lebron.

The a priori here is show me something that would work

I've said a thousand times that there was no way in hell, Houston was going to beat the Lakers in the bubble. They started 5 guys 6'7 and under, against a team stacked with size and length. That was mission impossible right off the bat. It had nothing to do with Westbrook. The crazy thing about shooting, is that Westbrook actually shot better from 3 in that series than Lebron.

I’m always amazed at how much different fans remember about different years and playoff runs and who played and who didn’t and specific stats. Very impressive to me, and my brain doesn’t work that way.

I live in Houston, I know all about the Rockets. Brother been a season ticket holder for years. Spanking the firecrackers in the bubble, remains one of my favorite playoffs series wins of all time.

Pot meet kettle LOL! …. with your faulty logic /relentlessly stated “excuses” for Russ’s rancid play that continues to this day no matter who the coach is or who is on the floor … YOU side step and ignore every last valid point made by any/all of us showing how full of **** you are with how you defend Russ with those nonsensical excuses.

Shrug we are still talking about it from a different perspective. You guys harp on his play like it somehow caused us to suck
My point remains that MVP Westbrook wasn't going to save that season

Somehow that gets turned into Slick blindly defending Westbrook. That's not the case. Yeah man..we had two flat tires..true but damn the friggin engine and Transmission were blown too! Why in the hell are we always talking about the damn tires,

Use that Rockets series as an example. The popular narrative is that how we played Russ, is why we won that series.

No.the fact that those clowns trotted out Robert Covington at 5, backed up by PJ, against AD and Lebron, not to mention that we had 4 other guys in the rotation, bigger than Covington or PJ. That's why we spanked their a**. It was a totally stupid a** gameplan. Yet most folks will continue to talk about Westbrook in that series.

It's similar to his time here IMO.
