Well, Kobe called him his worst teammate who didn't even belong in the NBA.

To be fair, Kobe was an a-hole. :D He didn’t seem to like that Smush didn’t treat him like a legend and instead just a teammate. I didn’t like Smush, but for what he was paid and what he was asked to do, he wasn’t bad, he was a pretty reliable shooter, we’ve had worse Lakers IMO. Speaking of Russ though, imagine getting fired because of him, hilarious

Kind of shocked and find it a bit bizarre that Russ has such an avid online fan contingent. If you look at the post on twitter, Russ Nation comes out to defend the dude like players we normally associate with as being part of the GOAT conversation

Smush Parker never put up big numbers, let alone massive amounts of triple doubles. He was barely an NBA player.
We blew up a Championship Team to bring in Russ. We still had a real chance to add at least one more Chip with the LeBron/AD pairing if that trade hadn’t gone down.
I’m taking expectations along with lost Championship Contention into consideration when labeling him “the worst Laker trade ever.”
We have become the most fortunate Franchise on the planet due to Nico’s crazy underestimation of what Luka will continue to do as a dominant player.
Without this, we were looking at a very long rebuild process- one that probably would have started two seasons from now with LeBron’s retirement.

We didn't blow up no damn Championship team to get Westbrook. We did that immediately after winning the Championship. WTF expectations should a rational person have, with AD and Lebron barely playing, AND with a roster that saw half of it, out of the league in the next season? Irrational thinking IMO.

Blew up what? Trez wasn't on the chip team. Kcp was a key contributor, Kuz wasn't. Rondo, Caruso, Green, Javale and Dwight were just as important, or more so than Kuz. Revisionist history. When half your team is out of the League in the next season. That's a pretty good indicator that your roster sucked. Couple that, with your two best players, only sharing the court for 20 games that season. I really don't get this idea that Westbrook tanked the season. A lot of blame to go around IMO.

You're thinking of the trade one-dimensionally. The problem was not just the players we shipped out but the fact, that we didn't have the assets to get rid of Westbrook once everyone realized it was a mistake and still compete. At the end it was Ainge that bailed us out, but that was after us screwing up 2 seasons of prime Lebron and AD.

yeah, same thing i said about the other historically bad laker trades. slick is focusing on what went out instead of the absolute termite infestation that we invited in the process.

It means he fulfilled his contract. We didn't have anything to do with his contract he signed that deal long before he got here. We could have flipped it for another big time player, and chose not to. That wasn't Westbrook's fault either. Thankfully we still ended up with Vando and Finney-Smith today, due to that contract. You guys are just going on and on, simply for the sake of Russ bashing.

Hell..Tinkerbell, Vando and Beasley matched his contract didn't they? Now it's luck that Ainge made the trade? That's still reaching for a reason to bash that dude. Our two best players were hurt, the roster was garbage, the HC was getting cussed out in front of the team by a FO VIP..but it was really all Westbrook's fault? NO

AD and Lebron didn't play much together for two straight seasons. We went to the Conference Finals after the trade. How in the hell did were we wasting two years of prime Lebron/AD? Please explain that.

Because the "infestation" is some BS. You sidestep the injuries, the trash roster, the HC getting tuned out. Those things didn't matter. I don't follow your logic at all.

follow the stats. we were worse when westbrook played, no matter who else was out there. and he made 1/3 of the cap. whether we signed him to that insane deal means absolutely nothing. that we willingly took it off someone else's hands is the crime.

You still side step the stuff I posted above, as if that was somehow irrelevant. If James and Davis had played most of the time he was here, this conversation would be a lot different.
