I think we're going to see a clear shift in this team's mentality...next season. Unfortunately, I think our destiny this year is to lose in the second or third round to a team like OKC that has had a single-minded focus on attacking the regular season and building good habits every single night for 6 months. I think JJ basically won't sleep all offseason and will go 1985 Pat Riley level of obsessed with winning. I think after a full offseason here and probably hearing some "well maybe Luka really isn't that guy" nonsense in the media Luka will try to win MVP next year. And I think LeBron will finally embrace being a 20 ppg game that impacts other areas more consistently.

 

Makes sense to me.
I think a large part as well is that Luka’s health is still off. His shooting percentages are really down from last season and it’s not because he’s not handling the ball enough. When he’s on the floor, both Austin and LeBron are deferring to him.

I have never waivered in my realistic view on this team. Unlikely to achieve greatness based upon regular season results and average margin of winning, etc, but I always remain hopeful.

 

Lakers have the best record against the top 10 seeds in the Western Conference...

Most of the Lakers losses are against the bottom of the barrel Eastern Conference teams.

big game tonight, if we win this one I'd say we not only nail the #3 seed, but also get the psychological upper hand against a young OKC squad and that may screw with their heads if we meet in the WCF.

 

Lakers will play with Len and Koloko even Bronny is questionable

 

We aren't worried about playing mind games with OKC. We are 7-3 in our last 10 games against them, and we have Luka, the guy that put them out of the playoffs last season, as the number 1 seed. We are already in their heads, I'd rest the big 3 in this game.

It is a wild coaching landscape where two playoff teams are firing their well regarded coaches in the final stretch of the season. I thought he might get canned this summer depending on how the playoffs went, but right before the playoffs... that is sa.... f***ING HILARIOUS!

 

I don’t like the guy, but he’s a good coach. I think Denver has roster issues outside of Jokic they have no real playmakers or depth. Strange decision.
