I wish we had that good, physical player who would just rough him up. Make him personally feel like a boy.

problem with those guys is that the NBA rewards guys like Brooks for their "hard nosed play" and if someone comes in and levels them it's a instant ejection (player and maybe coach too). Still hitting that little B**** might be worth it especially in a playoff series

I’m normally pretty moderate in the way I react and lean towards the more optimistic side of things.

But we aren’t really peaking at the right time. It seems that even though our big 3 can get theirs offensively and that they’re creating lots of open shots - we aren’t particularly special offensively. On the defensive end we have some glaring holes, we can be out rebounded and if our energy isn’t at a high level, our switching defence struggles.

Meanwhile, the western conference competition, the Thunder, Rockets, Warriors, Wolves and Clippers are all peaking at the right time. The only team that’s in a similar malaise to us is the Nuggets.

I’m not overly optimistic about our run in and our energy levels going into the playoffs. We may be seeing any of GSW, DEN, LAC or MIN as a first round opponent. And at the moment I’d only be confident facing the wolves.

If we face them in the PO, he'll make our bigs his b****es. Good thing we can slow down Kawhi (with Bron) and hopefully Haren (with DFS and Vando).

    Gonna be preemptive here:

This game was turned by the officials. Could we do better and show more poise? sure, maybe. However, this is a huge game and they (refs) were inconsistent all game. That stretch where Luka gets ejected (and the few minutes after) pretty much sealed the game. Crappy way to lose for sure.

The bright side, I don't think OKC is feeling like they want to see us. If we play with that energy and (lower the T/O's) we can beat any of these teams in a series. Operative word: IF

Respect for the game :D, their coach sounds like a little b****. F*** these refs, soft, in their feelings little crew, should not be doing playoff games for sure, you do not toss a superstar in a huge game like this for something so minor

    This was the night before

He could body slam a ref, punch an opponent below the belt, and slap Adam Silver's wife and it would be deemed "marginal" contact. No foul. No T. No ejection. Play on.

Aside from the JT vs Luka nonsense...

    How?

i usually don't do this, but i'll be the guy this time: what was the betting line on the game? i ask because the really weird s*** seemed to start when it looked like it was going to be close.

ok, i looked--it was about +9 for the lakers. pair that with the lakers kind of yo-yo-ing the availabilities in the lead up, and i'm wondering if some folks were about to lose some money.

if you wanted to make sure okc could pull ahead by enough, the ONLY route was to get luka out of there.

Lakers to me a have a big advantage over young teams as healthy Lakers teams just will slow down the game and bully ball these athletic teams with Luka and Lebron.

GSW worries me as Lakers don't have Caruso, Schroeder etc to chase Steph and GS like playing small ball just like the Lakers

Clips would be experienced, well coached, and have a guy who can match Luka and Lebron

Both GSW are old and been there so better to face them later and see if Kawhi Curry and Butler leg actually hold up and get beat up a bit before you have to go against those two teams IMO

Meanwhile Denver just doesn't seem that scary anymore. Murray isn't healthy and there defense blows.

Much rather get Denver or Memphis than LAC or GSW

We can’t dictate who we face at the end of the day, so we just face who’s in front of us. Those who manipulate standings and seedings by altering their play deserve to lose due to cheating the game. Unless your seeding isn’t affected and you are just resting players before the playoffs, I’m against any sort of seeding manipulation.
