My WMC from last night? Dillon Brooks. This dude is that one guy who gets a hot girlfriend (or boyfriend.. I don't judge) that makes him think he is better than he actually is. Times like this I miss the Ron Artest and Kobe type players. Brooks would of caught that elbow for sure. Anyway, not a bad win by the boys. Fk Brooks.
He is a Raja Bell type guy to me. Has some talent but thinks he is more important than he is. I don't knock him for making his mark the way he knows how. I mean bro is getting paid to ball which I can respect. But I wouldn't want Raja Bell on my team and I wouldn't want Dillon like a lot of Lakers fans didn't want Westbrook. FWIW, I actually thought Russ was a good pickup but I was grossly wrong. Anyway, back to the question posed. If we signed him I'd support him but that wouldn't change what I feel about the type of player he is IMO.
classic "you hate him if he's not on your team" guy, but i imagine a fair amount of his team's fans also find him both annoying and too inconsistent to be relied upon. houston clearly signed him to change their culture, and i think he did (probably in concert with udoka and fvv, too, though). the problem is that he's never been a big positive on the court, so it's all vibes. i don't like him, though. he's a thug and leans into it, and at times it's hurt his team in crucial moments.
I agree with your last comment about him. He is a (fake) thug who has built a rep that allows him to push the limits of good play vs dirty play. A lot of guys like that can never get the same love if they go somewhere else. Can you imagine how fast he would foul out if he played here? What would happen to Draymond if he left GS? His a** wouldn't last 5 minutes in any game. Brooks brings very little to the actual game IMO but that in your face brovado which is fun in spurts but in effective overall imo.
The worst part of this most annoying POS in the league is he thinks he's the main character and not just a day player on a bad soap opera.
since we have post win streak clarity, to be realistic we looked good when we were on that high and looked like capable contenders. Now that things setttled down if we continue like this, its going to be one short post season.
we seem to be able to turn it on and off defensively, but yeah, there are some matchups in the playoffs that i don't think we can win (specifically boston, cleveland, and okc). give us another offseason and some more chemistry among the big three, health, and a high degree of roster continuity, and i might feel better about next year. i do think we can win a couple rounds in the playoffs, depending on matchups. we could also go out in round 1 for the same reason (we draw a fully healthy and red hot clips or gs team)
Dillon Brooks is a bigger Patrick Beverly. That is all. And having Ezell and Brick on the team at the same time almost made me lose faith in humanity.
Going to be tough to win a title when you have 3 stars and then only one good offensive player after that (Rui). You have decent shooters in DFS and Gabe and a good lob threat in Hayes but I wouldn't call any of them good offensive players as they don't do s*** outside of those niche areas and DFS and Gabe I fear aren't going to be consistent either shooting If you can score and you can't rebound tough to overcome no matter how talented your other guys are
Offense wasn't the problem tonight .. They couldn't rebound when there was a possibility of making a run which led to some Curry 3s and GSW buckets . Luka was a no show and doesn't compete defensively . Reaves got exposed on switches too Anyways it's not your night when Podz drops 28 and Draymond hits 3s. Credit goes to the Warriors , their gameplan was great
Oh shucks we downgraded from AD to Luka and get destroyed in pivotal games and can't rebound or play defense.
Well as they said they made a move for the future lol so we just need to get the next Denise Rodman and we’re golden
Lakers will be way better with Luka as a number 1 option than with AD because Luka's offense and gravity are way better but yeah Warriors prefer seeing Doncic on the court than AD . Same for Boston . Not Denver though
yeah, it changed some matchups for sure. we're much better off going forward, but pretty similar at this exact moment, overall.
Defensive rebounding was the number 1 issue last night I agree But that offense was terrible in the first half and was a the other big reason they let the Warriors build a big lead. Then the comeback stalled because no one outside the stars and Rui could hit a shot
