yes, when him and towns were going at it, it was one of the most exciting moments of the game for me #1 pick against an undrafted player and you get the best of him and get in his head. loved it
Great move by Mitch to sign Upshaw quickly. We all saw the potential in this kid, and he showed what he can do defensively. You know if he kept playing well, someone would have came and scooped him up. Great move by Mitch and the front office to lock him up. Man I'm real excited with all the talent we have on this team.
funny thing is after he blocked towns i was like mitch should sign him just off that right there then after dinner i come in here and the first thing i see is that we signed him definitely a load off and im sure it will be good for him since he can have some peace of mind and not have that hanging over his head now he just needs to pick up his conditioning and get in better shape and then stick to hibbert like a sponge during training camp
Hopefully, we more of this https://streamable.com/rdsv and this . The block on Zach Lavine was very impressive to me as Upshaw was able to keep up with Lavine starting from the 3 point line and still block him.
Saw him establish position once with a blatant slamming his shoulder into Towns for the foul. Had Towns been doing anything to him like that to prompt it?
from what i remember there was some trash talking back & forth between them during that stretch which may have prompted that.
Saw that....anyone see J Clark and LaVine chippin it up the whole game? J Clark's been watching that Kobe tape
Unfortunately I couldn't watch the game, as I was at work. Saw the box score and saw LaVine and Clark were nearly identical stat wise. Who was better, would you say? (This question is for anyone who has any insight to this rivalry)
As others have said, I hope that means Kelly and Sacre are on their way out and we get some SF with range (maybe Wright)
LaVine was just chuckin' 3 pointers. He's Gerald Green reincarnated. Game hasn't really changed since we last saw him. JC is a boss. 3s, pull up Js, drives to the hoop, put back dunks. He was doing a bit of everything and was clearly the best player on the court. Seeing JC from last summer league compared to this one, the growth is insane. And I'm not exaggerating there at all. His year 1 to year 2 jump is going to be impressive.
Look at all the ways JC scored in that game. His skill level is ridiculous. He also did a nice job with ball handling, split at least one double beautifully. His handles are massively improved since the start of last season.
And Bye Bye Sacre. A man child that is out of shape, that can get 3 blocks in 12 minutes, go toe to toe with number 1 overall and get in his grill, while he's flopping all over deserves to be on this team. Upshaw is extremely large out there. Sets really nice screens, gobbles up defenders when he rolls to the hoop, protects the paint, showed some post presence and played physical. The tools are definitely there and makes Sacre look like he's bringing Fisher-Price play tools to the table. And I call dibs on him being our version of Rudy Gobert.
Thanks guys. I did catch chook's highlight video do I saw JC doing work. Just wasn't sure what LaVine did to match his output.
Upshaw was getting physical with towns! I love it! Watching him grow and develop will be fun, he just needs to get his conditioning straight and work with kareem show him how to use his length. Remember you can't teach height! Bye bye sacre
