i like that our guys are supporting each other

as for madsen it's nice to see him in the coaching role, im always repeating myself but i truly believe that role players more times than not are usually the ones that end up being head coach material, mostly because they may not have been blessed with the height or athleticism of others and it just makes them try that much harder and understand the game at a level that a talented player may not

he said all the right things, he agrees that randle did well but there are things to work on, our young guys are in good hands.

we gotta develop them the right way

You keep saying Randle looks rasty but for me it was a little concerning. Its like he dosen't play his game the right way.it shows he is really young, it will take him a year to develop his game. And if he thinks he can run at people and not get offensive fouls, hes mistaken.

i think the way we saw him play he was trying to get into a rhythm. if you see his highlights from college and last yrs summer league you can see the difference

like i said before i think he's one of those players that are kind of slow to start but once they get in a rhythm then the difference is like night and day

and i do agree that it will take him time to develop his game but the same can be said for most of our young players but all those things come with experience when they start finding out what they can get away with, whats working, whats not and thats where the coaching staff comes in as well. if they see something isnt working or something that can be improved then its up to them to help the player understand it

Clarkson gonna be a star! The way he plays and talks to the media is impressive.

Dude was clearly frustrated. He went a few minutes without even a touch offensively and went to the basket hard after that. He wasn't shooting the jumper enough. He wasn't taking advantage of his footwork. Later in the game he showed much greater footwork and touch.

Watch the last few minutes of the fourth quarter where he just embarrasses Payne over and over again. That's more of what we'll see as time goes along. There's other problems of his that I found more concerning: He showed very little defensive fight out there most of the night.

Yeah I noticed that. Defense was non existent except for some great blocks from Upshaw...

Don't agree with the title at all... We didn't win the game but there were lots of positives. I agree Randle and a few others will need some time to get this figured out. With that said looking at the big picture I think Laker fans should be very excited. In my eyes this game was far from a flop.

I'm impressed by what I seen. Very impressed. Randle will be fine. Russell showed what he can do in spurts, and Clarkson continues to shine. I'm excited.

I love the positive comments and thoughts however this wasn't our young guys (Randle in particular) struggling against NBA competition. It was a summer league game. 90% of our competition this summer will not be in the league or will see very few minutes. On the other hand, 3 of the guys playing for us will be very heavy rotational players.

Russell looked good to me and Clarkson looked fantastic. Black had his moments as well. Upshaw is a raw talent as is Randle. I think both of them will take time and patience.

Clarkson did not take much time off so it probably showed from all accounts. The overall game might have been ragged but as noted it is nothing more than a glorified practice. It is for them to work on familiarity and build cohesion not to mention their own individual games.

Looks like we might start witnessing more of the same 'Princeton', that we did last year.

I agree with the first and third point. The second one is strange, as Russell will have size advantage over nearly every other PG he plays against.

The offense was horrible last night. We need to start running P&R more. Rosales is right. It's similar to Mike Brown forcing that offense on Kobe, Dwight, Pau and Nash. The Princeton offense is what you use when you have no one to run an offense. We have extremely talented play makers in Clarkson and Russell.

I will say, Clarkson didn't rest on his 1st Team All Rookie laurels. He looks stronger, faster and more confident than last year. Kid was easily the best player on the floor last night. It's interesting that with all the Russell/Randle talk, Clarkson/Black might end up being better (as a duo).

Kidd and Scott had philosophical differences on using the Princeton even they were killing it with the P&R...Kidd got Scott bounced
