I don't think anything is wrong with having doubts or concerns about any coach or player until they have proven consistently who they are over the course of games and seasons. I think overly optimistic is just as bad as overly pessimistic when it comes to us fans. The sample size for this coaching staff has been enough to support they are a great staff. Will it win a Championship? Who knows. Will we compete in every game? absolutely. We all know that we couldn't say that about our Lakers teams of the past few years.

I’m also stumped at the poor closing of quarters. Don’t really understand why either. But I’m sure we’ll tighten it up, JJ seems to be doing most things right.

I was a doubter when he got hired. It's clear he's doing a great job and knows what he's doing.

These minute long clips of the locker room speech after each game is easily one of the top post game pieces of content that hits the web.

Coaches have so much in their heads at that point, they don't want to lose anything. So many things you want to say and point out to the team.

We got Lebron and Luka. That's a dream scenario for any coach. JJ has to be walking on air right now.

luka played that well, too, because he knew the time left meant hart couldn't get all the way to the hoop. so he closed hard and was in position to contest if he pulled up, didn't worry about the drive possibility.

I think we can say now that he’s far exceeded any realistic expectations.
At least for me, he has.

    Yeah for sure.
I think I was the one more vocal here in defending this signing at the time. I liked his podcast and view of the game. I also generally believe that you don't need to follow the pattern (in this case, being assistant coach for a few years or coach in college) to be good at a particular job. He had the traits that I think makes a good coach and was excited about this.

But I wasn't expecting him to be THIS good so quick. He had the same roster, only made a couple tweaks before the Luka trade and the improvement was glaring. Then swapping Luka for AD and Max really elevated the team and fit right in what JJ wants to do.

The playoffs will be a big test, and quite honestly I think it's where he will be even better. His comfort zone is studying the hell out of an opponent and make adjustments. I'm really looking forward to it.
Kudos also to the staff, especially Brooks and Nate, I think they're also a reason for our success. Great job by Rob and Jeannie to set up this staff.

But I also predicted something AD and D-Lo will do .They are both not Lakers anymore

Lakers will finish 1 in the NBA and will get 18 championship,JJ will win Coach of the Year
    Still could be true
