This almost feels like Pau's first season with the Lakers.

Ah man, Lakers should have won it all in 2008. Up 20 late in the 3rd should have tied that series. Lakers win Game 5 and then Kobe in Boston with the title 48 minutes away would have ended it. So much was lost in the record books with that loss.

"fully" is tough, but from about the midpoint of last season (iirc) up until the latter part of the playoffs, he was in as good a condition as he needs to be, imo. he got hurt and played through it in the finals (and played pretty well, really). and he really hasn't been right since.

i'll be curious to see if he decides/is able to come back in slightly better condition next year. he should be motivated, and as long as he doesn't sustain further injury this year, he should have a chance to show up ready to go.

that said, he's got basically a career-long harden habit of easing his way into seasons, and maybe we just have to live with it.

yeah, i've been saying it since the trade. it's a lot to expect us to just become a title contender in a couple months. but given some time, we have the principal pieces and some flexibility to build. we should be in the thick of it all year next year, barring injury, of course.

I'm impressed at the progress you've made. All it took was add a LUKA and you've morphed into glass half full OX.

I feel like like Luka is questionable every game and ends up playing.

I agree. And he needs to keep playing really, if he wants to get in a decent shape relatively soon. That's the only way.

I didn’t notice this in real time, I thought he had just tripped trying to squeeze through a double team, but looking at this clip it does look like Olynyk did it on purpose. Especially since you don’t really play defense or set screens or cut people off with your legs or feet, you use your body. He is a dirty player after all…

olynk sure tends to hurt a lot of players. He doesn't come out as a thug but after he yoked out Kevin Loves' shoulder don't trust that guy

Luka gets hit a lot. Teams get rough with him and the refs have always let it fly. Not sure if it's his size or what. Hopefully in LA he'll start getting more calls. Dallas never gets calls. Most of that had to do with Cuban ALWAYS complaining.

I think hes still a few weeks away from being in shape. only has moved well in a few games like Denver (plus the back needs to heal)

He needs to get in shape pretty soon, the season is almost over. Hell of a talent regardless.

the comment on the video is funny to me, as...he basically looks the same, physically. he's moving better because he's not hurt in those clips, lol. but if it's meant to be commentary on his conditioning, just pause some of them and look at recent game footage with us. that's the same guy, just dunking.

Fat Albert could dunk, and so can Lufa. But he dunks his doughnuts in whole milk instead of going to the rim and doing traditional boring dunking.

I don't think it's permanent or anything but it's not just the dunking, his first step doesn't have the same burst yet. I expect we won't see this for a more weeks. Feels like a Jamal Murray situation

right, he's said the same thing. it's because he's still not 100% from the calf injury, not because he's too heavy. he's plenty heavy in a lot of those clips.

Can't forget this one either. Like I said, he gets hit a lot and the refs ignore it. I tried to put the tweet in there but it wasn't working.
